The FBI files on Michael Jackson show a concerted effort by the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s office to convict the pop star for child molestationin 2003-2005.
The DA even brought in the FBI for assistance. But the Bureau’s examination of all the computers seized from Neverland found nothing in April 2004 — ten months before Jackson’s trial. They went through a bunch of computers seized at the ranch, and ran “keyword searches” through them, looking for kiddie pornography. They came up with 18 pages of nothing.
Michael’s defense attorney Thomas Mesereau expressed surprise to me about the FBI files yesterday. “I never saw them,” he said. “Shouldn’t they have shared them with me?”
It didn’t matter. Mesereau’s masterful handling of the case got Michael acquitted of all charges in his 2005 child molestation/conspiracy case. But why did the DA go ahead with the case at all if the FBI turned up nothing?
Mesereau told me: “They heard all these stories, they read stories in the tabloids, there was the 1993 case. They had to proceed. Plus DA Tom Sneddon had gotten legislation passed since the first case making it impossible not to go ahead. And he did it because of Michael.”
Jackson was innocent of those charges. Whatever else happened to Michael Jackson in life, he was set up by Janet Arvizo to take a fall. Luckily, several people stepped in to save Michael.
Two of those people were Frank (Tyson) Cascio and his friend Vinnie Amen. They were working for Michael in the winter of 2003. Jackson put them in charge of catering to the Arvizo family right after Martin Bashir’s “Living with Michael Jackson” aired on ABC. All hell broke loose because Michael bragged about Gavin Arvizo “sharing” his bed. Gavin and his brother were featured on the program. Chaos ensued.
District Attorney Tom Sneddon, Michael’s nemesis from the 1993 case, determined to destroy Jackson at that point. He sought out Janet Arvizo, not realizing she was a welfare cheat, a pathological liar, and a big cup o’crazy. On the witness stand, Mrs, Arvizo told Jackson’s defense attorney, Tom Mesereau, she believed Michael was going to steal her children in a big hot air balloon, and fly away.
After that, no testimony mattered. We in the Santa Maria courtroom knew Michael would moonwalk home, free as a bird. And deservedly so.
Earlier that year, I wrote in my old column that when Frank and Vinnie brought Janet home to her L.A. apartment from Neverland, Sneddon’s card was under her door. She called the number. He invented her. Then he involved the FBI. The results are in the newly released files. Manpower was revved up, resources were used. And it was all for nothing. Regardless of Michael’s naive comments about children, or anything that might have happened years earlier, he was innocent. He was guilty, like Chris Tucker and a bunch of other people, of being conned by the Arvizos.
In truth, the Jackson-Sneddon feud had been fueled by Michael. After the 1993-94 Jordy Chandler case, Michael fanned the flames by tautning Sneddon in song. It was a mistake. Sneddon was a no-nonsense guy. He didn’t wear designer suits. He reminded those of us in the court room of an old gym teacher. He wasn’t “hip.” And you could tell, he didn’t like the hip crowd one bit.
In the FBI files, you can see how Sneddon, using Court TV’s willing Diane Dimond, ginned up the anti-Michael cause. He even sent ADA Ronald Zonen — listed in the FBI files incorrectly as Richard — to New York to persuade Jordy Chandler to testify. Chandler declined, and threatened to fight a subpoena legally. The word was that he left the U.S. for the duration of the trial.
Sneddon et al had little luck getting anyone else from the so-called conspiracy to kidnap the Arvizos onto the stand. And Vinnie, I can tell you now, let me publish dozens and dozens of receipts he’d kept while babysitting the Arvizos. Eventually it all came out during the trial: rather than being kidnapped, the Arvizos were treated to movies, clothes, hotel stays, and spa treatments. Sneddon, of course, knew this. He just pretended that it never happened. Janet Arvizo received a full body waxing, courtesy of Michael Jackson. The FBI was taken to the cleaners.

Thank you, Roger, for being so definitively certain in this piece.
December 23rd, 2009 at 5:50 am
Thank you Roger, but where had you been before the verdict in June 2005?
What were you reporting about the case and investigation?
Do you remember?
I cant find a word of Michael naming innocent!
You, it was you article several years ago, you reported that of your friend, also a journalist, had given you some reports and “files” as evidence about Michaels innocence from the 1993 case and proving the Chandlers and their lawyers Fieldman a Rothman as conspirators and fraudsters, before your friend died.
Why dont you release those files or reports as evidence, you know that the allegations in 1993 were part of media conspiracy and some particular individuals to exploit Michael Jackson for making a worldwide scandal, it was you who reported something like this, indicating the conspiracy!!!
Id appreciate if you could answer me these issues via an e-mail.
Thanks.

Brandon, if you look at old archives, Roger has been saying the same thing since he sat in on trial. However much I cannot stand this old goat for publishing so-called “inside info” on the Jackson family, he was one of the few gossip hounds that did ACTUAL REPORTING during the trial. He called this years ago, and for that, I thank him.
December 23rd, 2009 at 6:45 am
Wasting all the resources tracking for someone who is innocent for years?? Where is the justice?? He was being treated unfairly and was crucified to premature death. God has taken him away from us as we dont deserve him. An inch of common sense proves that he was innocent and he would never ever hurt any children that he loved all his life.He helped them through his humanitarian works and in return, a betrayal? allegations? trials? Where is the justice? Can anyone answer me?
December 23rd, 2009 at 7:01 am
Whilome – I was reporting the trial for a Slovak MJ page, and I can tell you, he wasnt clear about Michael naming him innocent. He just doubt some of the witnesses, the Arvizos were undoubtedly morons and comedians.
Most of the MJ pages banned Roger as a source for their News reports, because of his some (many) biased reports, but I found them “interesting”, but not clear enough if he reported his own-personal point of view, or a typical biased journalistic report with a scandalous tendency…
Again, I appreciate his “sources”!!!, Roger has reported much news as the first, but what I want to know is if he is going to release his “files” = evidence about the dirty business of tabloid media and particular individuals, and some of us know he has them, including particular audio and video tapes…
December 23rd, 2009 at 7:02 am
Roger this article restores some of the faith in humanity that I lost by watching the persecution and destruction of Michael Jackson. Thank you. (Can you email it to CNN? Ted Rowlands and Jeff Tobin still think he was guilty.)
December 23rd, 2009 at 7:34 am
Anne – you can see my point of Rogers sources.
If he knew that Michael was Innocent, why people like Ted Rowlands and Jeff Tobin still think he was guilty?
Whats the point? Why they think he was guilty, if they all were at the same courthouse and saw all the evidence and witnesses, or not?
We can see the huge differences about the same issue – the molestation charges and the trial in 2005.
Damn, are they blind, biased or they dont want to see Michael vindicated?
No evidence, the accusers proven liars and con-artists so what?
Roger should know… something.
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:09 am
I’m embarrassed for the FBI. They got pulled into this drama by Sneddon and ended up looking like fools, in my opinion.
One of the agents even wrote NOTES regarding a “male chimp.”
What a waste of manpower AND resources!
I wonder how much the FBI sent in order to assist Mr. Sneddon with his wild goose chase. We already know how much the County of Santa Barbara spent.
And all for NOTHING! Absolutely nothing!

oke Roger I have to say it to you,I,am not made whit you raid now, pleas give the answer of to this;and me by I wil like you again.

I’ve never been a Roger fan but I distinctly remember him reporting (to Fox News) from his cell phone while driving in Santa Barbara that this whole trial was BS. He always thought MJ was innocent in THIS case.
My feeling is the same. I think the Arvizo case was a complete CON.
I think Jason Francia believes he was molested after 7 years of thinking it was just a tickling gone awry because he had a mom, cops and a DA convincing him his recollection was somehow faulty. His mother’s interest was in the million dollar settlement they received and the DA just needed more kids to make his case seem credible.
Jordy is a bit more complex. I don’t know what happened there. I want to believe Michael and Evan being more concerned about money than his son certainly bolsters MJ’s case. I just think if there were any impropriety, it was not predatory or traumatizing and felt more peer-like to both. That is until lawyers, doctors, social workers, money-grubbing parents got involved. They tried to destroy MJ but Jordy was collateral damage. I feel for the kid.
December 23rd, 2009 at 9:38 am
Shannon, as far as Jordan Chandler goes, he is NO LONGER A KID. He is now a “young adult” who should have come forward to clear Michael’s name.
There is a tape recording of Evan Chandler (I’m sure you can find it with a little digging) wherein he also calls his son “collateral damage,” because Evan’s only thought was how much money he could get out of Michael Jackson. Evan could careless what happened to his son, he was only interested in money.
And then all of these years later, in 2005, neither father nor son wanted to be bother with the prosecution’s case. Jordan left the country and as the recently released FBI papers show, he stated that he didn’t want to testify against Michael, and if they tried to force him, he would take LEGAL ACTION against them.
Sorry I feel nothing for this YOUNG MAN! He had and still has many opportunities to right the wrong that was done to Michael Jackson. I wonder how he sleeps at night!
December 23rd, 2009 at 10:02 am
I agree with you Lady Liberty.Sad to say though,Jordan Chandler will never come forward and tell the truth. For one thing you have to have a conscience and he apparently has none or he would have come forward long ago.I also feel nothing for this young man or about his father committing suicide.
The FBI followed Michael around for 17 years and found NOTHING,no criminal is that good.THIS MAN WAS INNOCENT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!
December 23rd, 2009 at 10:15 am
I also notice that although the media is trying to report this story one way, when you read the comments from THE PEOPLE (just regular folks like us) they all basically have the same comments as we all do.
“That being that the FBI spent all of that time investigating Michael and came up with nothing.”
I like to point that out, because it makes me hopeful that folks (regular folks just like us) are not as stupid as the media likes to believe. That “some” of us have now learned how to do our own research and we have also learned how to read in-between the lines of the media’s headlines and their articles.
We, of course, have a long way to go, but this is a dang good start. It also explains why a lot of people no longer trust the media.
The media can say whatever they want. For me, it’s what THE PEOPLE have to say in response!
December 23rd, 2009 at 10:36 am
Friedman seems to know nothing about the law, or the FBI’s jurisdiction. The FBI has jurisdiction in INTERSTATE or out of state issues, WHICH THEY DID HAVE EVIDENCE OF, THE MANN ACT, and out of the country, AGAIN, WHICH THEY DID HAVE EVIDENCE OF, a train ride, where a couple saw Jacko suspiciously with ONE BOY who he called Jacko’s “nephew”, AND reports by a boy in London and the Phillipines.
December 23rd, 2009 at 10:39 am
Read the FBI files for yourself. Don’t take Friedman’s word for it. In the actual files, you will see: The government had evidence against Jacko for the Mann act, which they declined to prosecute. They had another witness who refused to testify, they had complaints from boys in London and the Phillipines, and the couple who saw Jacko on a cross country train trip with a boy. Except for the stalker EVERYTHING the FBI investigated had to do with BOY, not girl, BOY alleged victims.
December 23rd, 2009 at 10:55 am
Calista, maybe you need to read the FBI files again.
Do you really think that if the FBI had any evidence, no matter how small, Sneddon would not have used said evidence in 2005? He tried to get everybody and their momma to testify in that bogus trial, do you really believe he would have overlooked the “so-called” evidence that you claim was there?
They had evidence but declined to prosecute. Now why in the world would they do a thing like that? LOL!
There were NO boys in the Phillipines. There was only the couple who once worked at Neverland.
There was one British male who “claimed” to have had a conversation with Michael over the phone. The only problem with his story is that he sold his story to THE SUN (British tabloid) as an adult, and never went to the police. The FBI’s file actually had a copy of that TABLOID article attached. The FBI didn’t pursue it and Sneddon never called this person to testify. I wonder why!
Same thing goes for the couple on the train. If their story was SO credible, why weren’t they used in the 2005 case. Cause Lord knows, Sneddon needed ALL of the help he could get, since the stars of his production turned out to be a family of lying, welfare cheats who also worked a bunch of scams on the side.
December 23rd, 2009 at 11:00 am
The couple in the Phillipines were talking about their EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS.
You asked They had evidence but declined to prosecute. Now why in the world would they do a thing like that? LOL!
Are you kidding? Did you just see what happened with Tiger Woods and the DA that wouldn’t even subpoena his blood work? DA’S ARE AFRAID of high profile cases with high profile celebs.
Friedman, please have Mesereau list ALL THE BOYS JACKO PAID OFF IN SETTLEMENTS all over the world in child molestation charges. He NEVER will.
December 23rd, 2009 at 11:04 am
Oh correction, in these sleazy settlements, no “admissions” are ever made. That’s why they are settlements We all saw the leaked settlement to Jordie Chandler, they only admit to NEGLIGENCE, because we all know the insurance company won’t pay out on anything CRIMINAL.
December 23rd, 2009 at 11:09 am
The eyewitness account that you speak of, was while they worked AT NEVERLAND. Try again!
Tiger Woods had a MINOR car accident wherein no one was hurt. I really don’t see your point because we are not talking about a District Attorney. We’re talking about the FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION. Big difference.
Do you also think that the FBI is afraid of high profile cases?
And if there was a list of payments ALL OVER THE WORLD, then the Federal Bureau Of Investigation would have found it. If not, then what good are they? LOL!
December 23rd, 2009 at 11:15 am
Yeah of course the FBI is as image conscious as any DA. They are not going to bring up Jacko on federal charges of violating the Mann act. No surprise! The Sharptons, et. al. (Sharpton who fanned the FALSE rape charges by Tawana Brawley) would be screaming it was a racial prosecution like in the 1950’s against Chuck Berry, when he was prosecuted under the Mann act. Celebrities get off ALL THE TIME. Ever heard of “Celebrity Just Us”? NO, the FBI did not and would not go there.
December 23rd, 2009 at 11:33 am
Quote: And if there was a list of payments ALL OVER THE WORLD, then the Federal Bureau Of Investigation would have found it. If not, then what good are they? LOL!
No, they would not have “found it”. They are filed under seal, without ANY public scrutiny whatsoever. They would have to SUBPOENA those secret settlements. ALL of them.
December 23rd, 2009 at 12:52 pm
Calista, the FBI’s CART unit did a forensic search of MJ’s computer. They found nothing. They took the allegations of the “suspicious sounds” coming from a train berth from MJ and a cousin and did nothing. Had they found one “credible” witness (one not compromised by demands for $$), they and Sneddon would have run with it. As it stood, they accused a man of pedophilia, but couldn’t come up with ONE credible witness against him. Remember, he lived 50 years. You’re telling me that every single supposed victim ganged up to protect him? If only Peter Pan had such devoted lost boys!
The estate is a sitting duck for any guy willing to hit it with a “MJ touched me and I have proof!” story.
Out of everybody trying to get a slice of the pie, why none of them, Calista? Maybe they don’t exist.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:14 pm
Quote: As it stood, they accused a man of pedophilia, but couldn’t come up with ONE credible witness against him.
FALSE. MANY people took the stand against him in Santa Barbara, the Neverland 5 and others, including Jordie’s mother, and Mesereau attacked them and their credibility for taking tabloid money, etc. Jordie didn’t testify, because he is being PAID in the millions for his silence. These deals are structured to keep the boy’s silence for years, or they lose their payoff money. I am against rich pedophiles, rapists, criminals, etc. being able to buy their way out of criminal charges with civil payoffs to victims. It’s the same in the Kobe Bryant case. If he is ever charged with rape again, the accuser can’t testify without losing her payoff money, which means, like Jordie, she won’t testify.
The Estate won’t pay out any money on BOY (not girl, EVER) molestation claims. HE’S DEAD, and can’t be sued. HE PAID OUT ON THOSE CLAIMS WHEN HE WAS ALIVE.
Look at his two FAKE marriages to women. Look at his white test tube kids, he was NEVER interested in women. He hug out with pubescent BOYS until he was indicted, despite the advice of lawyers, record execs. Everyone knows what Jacko was.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:25 pm
Wrong AGAIN!
There is nothing, I repeat NOTHING in the settlement that prevents Jordan Chandler from testifying.
He didn’t want to testify because he knew that Thomas Mesereau would have ripped him a new one. He also knew that Mesereau had some of his friends ready to testify that Jordan told them that Michael NEVER touched him, and it was all his father’s idea.
Bottomline – Jordan Chandler did not testify because he was afraid. So afraid that he threatened to take LEGAL ACTION against the authorities. So afraid that he left the country until the trial was over.
Jordan Chandler NEVER said: “I can’t testify because of the settlement,” he said: “I don’t want to testify, and if you try and force me to testify, I’ll sue you!”
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:33 pm
Quote: he said: “I don’t want to testify, and if you try and force me to testify, I’ll sue you!”
LOL! Please direct my attention to where Jordie Chandler EVER said that. That NEVER happened. You can’t SUE a DA with a SUBPOENA. If you are SUBPOENANED to give testimony, you either show up, or the Judge issues a bench warrant for your arrest, and you go to jail for contempt of court. Those are the FACTS.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:44 pm
You CLAIM to have read the FBI papers. I suggest you RE-read them.
As per the FBI papers, Ronald Zonen from Santa Barbara along with the FBI went to interview Jordan Chandler and he said he did not want to testify, he had done his part, and he would take LEGAL ACTION if they forced him to testify.
Not only is that in the FBI papers, it’s also in Roger’s column. Did you even read Roger’s column today, before you commented? LOL!
I’ll help you out. As per Roger’s column:
“Chandler declined and THREATENED to fight a subpoena LEGALLY!”
Fight a subpoena LEGALLY. It appears that Jordan Chandler, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY did not want to testify. I wonder why.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:44 pm
These sleazy settlements should be illegal, IMO. The give wealthy defendants like Jacko and Kobe Bryant and UNFAIR advantage in that they can BUY the victim’s silence in SEALED civil suit deals for mega millions, forever barred from public scrutiny and disclosure, and keeping their sorry selves out of PRISON.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:47 pm
Quote: It appears that Jordan Chandler, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY did not want to testify. I wonder why.
A subpoena to testify is a COURT ORDER, NOT a “suggestion”. It is enforced by the Judge accordingly if you do not comply. Jordy didn’t want to testify because he was being PAID MILLIONS by Jacko to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT FOREVER.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:51 pm
If that was the case, what was the point of Zonen and the FBI going ALL THE WAY to New York.
Just like you said, a subpoena is a court order, which would automatically overrule any settlement agreement. You’re contradicting yourself. You can’t have it both ways.
Are you saying that a subpoena is a court order, unless you signed a settlement? LOL!
Sorry, but a subpoena outweighs any settlement. And if you don’t already know that, then you need to ask somebody!
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Quote: Just like you said, a subpoena is a court order, which would automatically overrule any settlement agreement. You’re contradicting yourself. You can’t have it both ways.
Jordy WAS NOT subpoenaed to testify, or he would have HAD to have shown up, or face jail time. Sneddon DID NOT subpoena him, he clearly thought he could get around it by using Jordie’s mother’s testimony. Mesereau DID NOT subpoena Jordy either.
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
The way these sleazy deals are structured by lawyers for wealthy defendants like Jacko and Bryant is the victim IS NOT paid out in a lump sum, but rather over a LONG period of time, like 20 years, to ensure THEIR SILENCE. These sleazy deals are wrong and should be illegal. They are buying material witnesses silence, pure and simple, to keep themselves out of PRISON.
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:05 pm
calista give it up u idiot. your arguments do not make sense. stop trying to beat a dead horse. does not make lies true. get a fifing life. you are not in the same social class as mj. get a fingng life
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:17 pm
Calista @ December 23rd, 2009 at 1:47 pm, you are absolutely and utterly wrong and grossly misinformed. Jordan Chandler was a minor at the time his father, Evan Chandler, made the allegations against Jackson. Jordan himself never verbally said Michael Jackson molested him. Jordan did, however, at age 13, sign a statement of allegations that was placed in front of him. Now that Jordan is an adult, he can come forward. He will suffer no repercussions whatsoever by telling the truth AND he can keep the settlement money! Why? Well, since he was a minor at the time the confidential settlement agreement was signed by his father, Evan, Jordan was not a signatory, and therefore cannot be held to the Confidentiality Agreement now. Also, the Estate of Michael Jackson would benefit by the truth; therefore, no one via the Estate is likely to pursue Jordan for the settlement money, if any still exists. Furthermore, the statute of limitations regarding fraud has long ago tolled, so Jordan is free as a bird to admit that his father was the master-mind behind the plot to extort Michael Jackson. Jordan can’t even say his father would kill him if he spoke out because, of course, Evan is now dead. Jordan should speak the truth, but whether he will is another story. I believe he will one day summon the moral courage to act rightly in the face of popular opposition, shame, scandal or discouragement. After all, no one can live a lie forever, especially since Jordan appears to want to pursue a career as a songwriter. Ironic, isn’t it? Jordan C. Chandler has written two songs with would-be songstress/friend Sonnet Simmons. You can Google for this information! Most everyone thinks he lives in NY under an assumed name. No, he lives in Los Angeles under his real name. Like I said, he can’t stay underground forever. Oh, and one more thing, Calista, according to court documents, Michael’s insurance company settled the claim, which insurance companies have the right to do if the cost of defense, regardless of the verdict, exceeds the insurance company’s expectation of their liability for that defense. Calista, do you know nothing about how real life works? Are you totally ignorant of the facts of this matter? Are you too lazy to do any research on this subject? Is it absolutely vital for you to cling to the notion that Michael Jackson was a child molester? Why? Can you not change your mind when, presented with the evidence, it all adds up to extortion? Do you not realize how frequently rich celebrities are the target of extortion? Do you not know how to Google, for cryin’ out loud?! Sheesh.
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:21 pm
Oh, pray tell, WHAT NOW BUT MONEY is keeping Jordy silent, if he was never molested 13 years ago? Don’t worry, Jordy will talk, probably the day after his settlement agreement (ie., PAYOFF FROM JACKO) ends. And I don’t believe for one second he will say anything but the allegations were true, that he was molested by Jacko.
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:24 pm
Boo hoo, extortion? Jacko lost trying to claim the payoff to Jordy was extortion, the payoff agreed to by his own lawyer, JOHNNIE (OJ IS GUILTY AS HELL) COCHRAN.
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:30 pm
The goal of mjtruthnow dot com is the vindication of Michael Jackson by mainstream media, which must now be dubbed “medialoid.” Surely one of society’s biggest problems is medialoid, defined as the infiltration of tabloid journalism into traditional media sources, including the proliferation of sensationalism, triviality and disregard for privacy, with particular emphasis on news coverage of the sports and entertainment industries. Medialoid thinks they make the rules by which society must live. They think they define what is and is not free speech. They have no morals, no decency and no shame. What we have is not qualified reporters reporting on newsworthy topics but packs of bloodthirsty jackals always on the prowl for their next victim. They hide behind the First Amendment while they tear down society by pandering to humankind’s basest instincts. As we see here, they negatively influence poor brainless dupes like Calista. From their presumed position as the final arbiters of what people should think and what they should be thinking about, they smell blood in the water and circle the victim like a bunch of braying hyenas. I hope you’re all proud of yourselves. Michael Jackson…now Tiger Woods. Tiger isn’t the one who should be ashamed—except before his wife. Medialoid should be ashamed for the disreputable way they behave when a high profile personality stumbles. Ugh. I hate the media. They all make me sick.
Thanks to Roger Friedman for this blog commentary. Regardless of what Roger may have said of a negative nature about Michael in the past, he has now stepped up to the plate and defends the defensible, which Michael surely was. Moral courage, Roger, moral courage. Thank you.
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:38 pm
Calista, you simply refuse to understand. Please do some research into how and why insurance companies pay off claims. The economics involved; the repercussions to the insurance company and their insured. I formerly worked for an insurance defense firm that specialized in medical malpractice. Physicians used to cry in the conference room because their insurance company forced them to settle when they thought they did nothing wrong in the operating room. It doesn’t matter what Johnny Cochran said. It doesn’t even matter what Michael said during Diane Sawyer’s interview. The 2005 court documents indicate that the insurance proceeds came from the insurance company for “global damages” to which Evan Chandler agreed. Have you not heard Evan Chandler’s taped extortion attempt that was authenticated and submitted into evidence at the 2005 trial? Do you not understand that any parent whose son had been molested would go straight to the police, not a crooked lawyer? Do you not know that Janet Arvizo consulted the same lawyer? Do you not know that there’s no expiration to a settlement agreement? Do you know anything at all about settlement agreements? Do you really think a parent can bind a child in perpetuity to agreements the parent made while the child was a minor? Why would you think such a thing? Good lord, it’s useless. You’re ignorant and have no measurable IQ. You just suck up tabloid junk like so much food to your sick spirit.
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:41 pm
All you people that believe Mesereau was going to “rip Jordy a new one”, pray tell, WHY DID HE NEVER SUBPOENA JORDY?
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
Oh and by the way, why don’t the whacko Jacko fans subpoena Jordy now? He’s alive? What are you afraid of? They are afraid of getting egg all over themselves, because he won’t recant, nor will any of the other boys.
December 23rd, 2009 at 2:57 pm
People, WHY are you wasting your time arguing with this obvious and complete IDIOT? Just ignore him/her and move on…this person obviously doesn’t have a workable brain that is capable of independent thinking. BTW, Thanks Roger.
December 23rd, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Great article Roger keep up the good work, the truth about Michael’s innocence must be told, thank you for this article, MJ fans are so thankful it means everything to us because we know Michael was always innocent!!

Memo in Support of Objection to Subpoena for Settlement Documents
In released court documents a few years ago (during trial), it turns out that Michael Jackson’s insurance company negotiated and settled the 1993 civil suit against his wishes.
The following are excerpts from that recently released court document:
Part 1:
Pg3
The settlement agreement was for global claims of negligence and the lawsuit was defended by Mr. Jackson’s insurance carrier. The insurance carrier negotiated and paid the settlement, over the protests of Mr. Jackson and his personal legal counsel.
It is general practice for an insurer to be entitled to control settlement negotiations and the insured is precluded from any interference.
…Under the majority of contracts for liability insurance, the absolute control of the defense of the matter is turned over to the insurance company and the insured is excluded from any interference in any negotiation for settlement or other legal proceedings (emphasis added).
…An insurance carrier has the right to settle claims covered by insurance when it decides settlement is expedient and the insured may not interfere with nor prevent such settlements.
Pg2
Because insurance companies were the source of the settlement amounts, and the insurance companies make the payments based on their contractual rights to settle the proceeding without Mr. Jackson’s permission, the settlement does not constitute an admission and cannot be used to create such an impermissible inference to the jury.
Pg3
The speculative suggestion that Mr. Jackson somehow made an admission when an insurance company required a settlement, and in fact paid for the settlement, creates an impermissible inference to the jury that would deprive Mr. Jackson of due process of law.
Part 2:
This motion filed by T-Mez during the trial last year should clear that info:
Hightlights: Memo in Support of Objection to Subpoena for Settlement Documents
The following are excerpts from the court document:
Pg3 The settlement agreement was for global claims of negligence and the lawsuit was defended by Mr.
Pg2 Because insurance companies were the source of the settlement amounts, and the insurance companies make the payments based on their contractual rights to settle the proceeding without Mr. Jackson’s permission, the settlement does not constitute an admission and cannot be used to create such an impermissible inference to the jury.
Pg3 The speculative suggestion that Mr. Jackson somehow made an admission when an insurance company required a settlement, and in fact paid for the settlement, creates an impermissible inference to the jury that would deprive Mr. Jackson of due process of law.
Pg 4 It is unfair for an insurance company’s settlement to be now held against Mr. Jackson or for the Settlement Agreement to be admitted as evidence of Mr. Jackson’s prior conduct or guilt. Mr. Jackson could not control nor interfere with his insurance carrier’s demand to settle the dispute.
Pg9-10 Permitting evidence of settlement agreements or amounts would be speculative because there is no evidence Michael Jackson made the settlement. Settlements in civil suits many times are dictated by insurance companies who settle claims regardless of an individual’s wishes.
Although Jordan Chandler was interviewed “thereafter” by detectives seeking evidence to offer in a child molestation prosecution of Michael Jackson, “no criminal charges were filed as a result of that interview.”
This interview took place prior to the decision of the United States Supreme Court in Stogner v California, 539 U.S. 607, 613 (2003), holding California’s retroactive extension of the statute of limitations to be unconstitutional.
In other words, Jordan Chandler’s statements were not sufficient even at that earlier time, to support child molestation charges against Michael Jackson, and to now permit the suggestion of a settlement agreement for some improper act is not only irrelevant, but also a speculative violation of the statute of limitations
After this motion, the judge ruled that the prosecution were not allowed to allude to or include any information or suggested allegation that MJ paid the Chandlers because he didn’t the insurance paid over MJ’s and his lawyers objections…
Another thing to note… when Evan was filing suit he included “negligence course of distress” knowing full well the insurance would pay for that which would pave way for the Chandlers to avoid the criminal trial. MJ and his team were pushing for the criminal trial, they filed a motion to stop the civil trial, put in on hold to wait for the criminal trial but they were denied that chance…..

Thank you, Roger. The truth must be told!
December 23rd, 2009 at 4:28 pm
What a joke! Subpoena Jordy now and let’s get what he has to say on the record right now, Jacko freaks! You won’t dare because Jordy will say JACKO MOLESTED HIM. And he hasn’t been under his father’s alleged control since 2006, since Jordy sued the old man, saying he tried to kill him. So you’re out of excuses about why Jordy is not singing YOUR tune, and never will.
December 23rd, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Give up, folks. Calista’s a hater – nothing you can write will make her see the light, because she hates Michael Jackson. Calista, honey, you can’t stand the fact that this black man was so talented, so accomplished, so wealthy. You’re a bigot. Own it. Nobody cares. Now crawl back into your hole of hate and chill.
December 23rd, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Thanks Simba. Calista is officially a troll. No longer worthy of a response.
December 23rd, 2009 at 4:58 pm
Thank you Brandon! There was nothing in that settlement document that could have stopped Jordan from testifying against Michael Jackson. The so-called “pay-off” wasn’t to silence Jordan Chandler. It was to get the civil trial out of the way. There is no way anyone is going to waste their time and resources on gathering information and preparing for a civil lawsuit when you have prosecutors pushing for criminal charges. The reason no charges were brought against Michael Jackson in 1993, is because a) there was a lack of evidence, and b) Jordan Chandler refused to testify against Michael Jackson, and didn’t want to partake in any proceedings where he would be named a “victim”. And that is the truth.
December 23rd, 2009 at 6:58 pm
Thank ypou, Roger for being fair on this. It takes a big man to admit the obvious. God bless you!
December 23rd, 2009 at 7:01 pm
People! People! DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS! Calista is the epidemy of a troll hater. Their kind refuse to do indept research. The truth would hit them upside the head with the force of a 2×4 and still they would deny the truth.
Don’t waste your gray matter on haters as they have none.
December 23rd, 2009 at 7:03 pm
Obviously Calista is not too bright because if so then Calista would know that Jordy received the last of his “payoff” in 1999. Also HWy does this idiot keep saying mj fans need to subpoena Jordy . That is just plain dumb . There is no need/legal cause for MJ fans to subpoena this young man he will tell the truth when he is ready. We must pray for him not hate him . Although he was a minor when all of this came about he si a victim of hte system also and if everytone keeps bullying hin as they have in the past this amt take him longer to come out and tell the truth. No matter how angry we are we must not lose our compassion. Michael never condemned Jordan and neither should we .
December 23rd, 2009 at 7:20 pm
Calista, why you hates MJ?
He is innocent, sorry, but you should accept.
You are considering that he is guilty only because he is rich. This is ridicule.
December 23rd, 2009 at 7:51 pm
I’m not sure about MJ’s guilt, but you cant settle criminal charges. The civil suit made it so Jordy has to stay quiet in terms of not giving interviews, but he can testify and still get all the money because the criminal case is separate and you can’t get in trouble for testifying. So his silence in court wasn’t bought, his silence in the media was.
That being said, there are other reasons for him not wanting to testify other than that the allegations aren’t true. If you were molested, would you want to testify about it in open court and be grilled? That’s traumatic. I wouldn’t take refusal to testify as an admission that the allegations were false.
And Calista, I don’t see how fans could subpoena Jordy. There needs to be a trial involved to have a subpoena.
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:05 pm
I tell everyone who wants to argue with me, if my child were molested there is no way in hell I would accept money from the molester. I would want justice. Plus I would be concern about any other child who may come in this person pathway. Those who love to hollow why did Michael pay. I hollow right back, why did Evan Chandler take money? You guys had some good reading. Alot of things I never heard before. Thank you. Michael’s name will be cleared one day.
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:17 pm
SoCalGal: All I have to say is, I love the way you write. Very descriptive and metaphorical. I really like the “no measureable IQ” part. Maybe you should write a book about all of this. You seem to have all the info at your fingertips.
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:51 pm
All I have to say now is repeat what every FBI files says:
NO EVIDENCE FOUND – CASE CLOSED
can I hear an Amen!
December 23rd, 2009 at 9:10 pm
I believe that michael may or may not have molested jordie chandler, but I do not believe he molested gavin arvizo. Now that right there was indeed an extortion attempt. All you have to do is look at the suspicious time line and the numerous inconsistancies. I’m willing to bet that if gavin hadn’t appeared in that damaging documentary, none of this would have happened.
Janet arvizo was obviously upset that her son was put in that documentary without her consent and had expressed anger and disgust at the way he was exploited by the media. The family had to go into seclusion after being bombarded by tabloids around the world. Janet had hired a lawyer to sue martin bashir and his tv company but wasn’t successful, so she turned to michael instead. According to Jay jackson, janet’s boyfriend, Michael had promised to buy the family a new house, a new car, and college funds for all 3 children, but he never kept his promises. Instead he abandoned the family and went his own way. This is what caused them to turn against him so visciously. They felt betrayed that someone who they called a father would turn his back on them when they needed him most and were angry that they weren’t going to be a part of his luxurious life anymore. Janet had plans to sue michael for allowing Martin bashir to film her children without her permission but that lawsuit was also not successful, so she decided to take it a huge step further. She met with larry feldman and told him that michael jackson molested her son and kidnapped her family in a hot air balloon. This would explain why larry king testified that larry feldman told him that janet arvizo was a wacko and that he didn’t want to take her case. So instead he sent them to stanley katz and thats when all the lurid details came out. Next thing you know, MJ is being charged with 10 counts of child molestation.
One of the many redflags in the case was how the family originally told police that everything happened before the rebuttal video, but later changed their stories after they were caught on tape saying nice things about michael. Then all of sudden everything happened after the video. They also claimed that michael kidnapped them, told them their lives were in danger and had plans to ship them off to Brazil–yet according to store receipts, they were out shopping and dining at michael’s expense and were able to leave neverland 3 times and return 3 times. This is exactly why the jury didn’t believe these people. They were nothing more but a bunch of professional actors and con artists and no prosecutor in the right mind would ever have brought the case to begin with. If tom sneddon had investigated this family and their claims throughly, instead of trying to win at any cost, then maybe he would have saved the city of santa barbara $3 million
December 23rd, 2009 at 9:39 pm
Calista, dear, learn some legal facts. It was a catch 22 for the sbc da’s. They deemed chandler a victim yet the law states u cannot force a vic to testify. They cld not
Neverland five?
Chacon who took $from sb sherrifs.short n fat yet claimed to have seen sex acts thru a window that was 5 feet higher than his line of sight
Francia claims to have seen mj n wade robson in shower yet then allows son jason to b with mj as a friend?
Lemarque my fave says he saw mj hands down culkins pants. That’s his direct testimoney YET admits on cross he had to lie to tabloids to make story more salacious. Only saw mj’s hands on macs shoulder. Committed perjury
Abdool and mcmanus along wit other three all were fired WITH cause sued mj and lost. No veracity. U c children molested yet u sue to get your job back OH and never call police?
Chandler’s friends were ready n willing to testify that he told them nothing happened. If melville/sneddon didn’t drop the issue of allowing affidavit mez wld ask hearsay ev to come in. Sneddon then dropped his motion.
June chandler hasn’t spoken to her son in more than 10 yrs so she’s invalid as well
Did I miss anything?
Roger was spot on during trial especially on the calabassas aka kidnapping trip. Thanx rog!
December 23rd, 2009 at 9:49 pm
A couple of points – MJ never bragged about sharing his bed with Gavin Arvizo. He (naively, stupidly) said that the most loving thing you could do is share your bed with someone. At that point, none of the Arvizos had ever spent the night in MJ’s bedroom suite. After the Bashir show aired, they were urged to try to do so by DA Tom Sneddon.
One of the true unsung heroes of the story was Randy Jackson. He urged Tom Mesereau to take MJ’s case, and he mortgaged his house to help pay him.
Interesting how the media is spinning the story: the FBI was called in because of fears of terrorism during the trial. They are totally burying the lede – Michael Jackson’s complete innocence. Nothing from Diane Dimond, or Maureen Orth. Harvey Levin in particular has lost all pretension to journalistic objectivity in his efforts to portray MJ as a perverted weirdo.
Roger, any insight as to how a little-known foreign journo like Martin Bashir was able to leap-frog over dozens of better-qualified Americans to succeed Ted Koppel as host of Nightine? Was it a reward for the takedown of Michael Jackson? And is it true that Bashir’s brother works for Tommy Mottola? (Quite a “coincidence” if it’s true.)
December 23rd, 2009 at 10:12 pm
” According to Jay jackson, janet’s boyfriend, Michael had promised to buy the family a new house, a new car, and college funds for all 3 children, but he never kept his promises. Instead he abandoned the family and went his own way.”
Come on, why on earth would this family expect Michael Jackson, or anybody else, to do all that for them? What made them so special? They had already squatted for weeks at Neverland, at MJ’s considerable expense, destroying property and generally behaving like louts as they did so.
It’s ridiculous to say that MJ “abandoned” the Arvizos because he declined to provide for their every whim and desire for the rest of their lives. Especially so, considering the scorn heaped on Michael Jackson’s very elderly parents and other family members. MJ had the right to take care of his own family in any fashion he chose. He had no obligation to do anything for ungrateful strangers like the Arvizos.
December 23rd, 2009 at 10:15 pm
Simba: Enlightening info on Bashir/Mottola!! I read some things about that guy, Terry George, who supposedly had a phone call from MJ. I asked my husband to read the article from 1993 and when he saw that it was a particular British tabloid, he said, “there is no point in reading any further.” And he didn’t bother. His mother was British and he used to work for a local newspaper where we live. In other words, don’t believe anything in that article or any other tabloid. It’s sad that those papers have so much power.
December 23rd, 2009 at 10:53 pm
Calista, if you’re still reading, then you need to go to hell immediately because you do not belong on this good earth. I’ve got news for you: it takes one pedophile to identify another. You’re so hung up on your baseless belief that Jackson was a child molester, and that speaks volumes about your character.
I’d personally rather believe that Jordan Chandler and Gavin Arvizo were never touched by Jackson and that they were used by their parents to extort money from him. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
December 24th, 2009 at 1:05 am
To Calista @ December 23rd, 2009 at 4:28 pm
Calista, you keep screaming for Jordan Chandler to be subpoenad now, sixteen years after Evan Chandler’s extortion. Have you ever heard of the legal term “statute of limitations?” This means that the allowable period of time for any action Michael may have brought for damages to him by Evan Chandler’s extortion (remember, Jordan was a minor so no action could be brought against him; only his father) was one year per California Civil Code section 335.1. It was subsequently changed to two years; Jordan was even then still a minor. This means that, no matter what, no one can subpoena Jordan Chandler now. He is completely home free, able to spend his settlement money any way he wishes.
Furthermore, if the complainant (Evan Chandler, now dead, or his heir, Jordan Chandler) wishes to withdraw his claim, i.e., retract his accusations, Michael’s estate would probably have no objection since the admission would vindicate Michael Jackson. Retraction = vindication = would be to the benefit of the estate. Also, Jordan retracting his story does not damage Michael Jackson’s heirs or his estate. The confidentiality agreement is designed to end the complainant’s continued publication of his accusations. Admitting that the accusation was false would fall outside the nature of prohibited statements contemplated by the parties. If the complainant wishes to say anything otherwise about the case and settlement, he is not relieved of his duty of confidentiality just because Michael Jackson is dead. However, one of the complainants, Evan Chandler, is also dead; June Chandler is presumably still alive.
Jordan could come forward and make all things bright and shiny again. He could announce that he intends to establish The Michael Jackson Center for Responsible Journalism in honor of Michael. After all, extortion cannot occur without the complicity of irresponsible journalists. If he expressed regret for what happened to Michael, Michael’s admirers would embrace Jordan as a moral hero. If Jordan made good on his intention to establish an institution for examining the underlying reasons why mainstream media has turned tabloid, he would be contributing mightily to the strengthening of democracy. After all, when media lies, we all lose. And Jordan would finally be living a purpose-driven life.
December 24th, 2009 at 1:13 am
Calista Says: Oh and by the way, why don’t the whacko Jacko fans subpoena Jordy now?
Oh, and by the way, Calista, Michael Jackson’s admirers have no legal standing to subpoena anyone. We were not (technically) damaged by Evan Chandler’s extortion; only Michael was damaged, and he didn’t seek retribution, as was his spirit not to.
You sound like a silly young girl. How old are you, anyway?
December 24th, 2009 at 3:37 am
SoGaLGaL!
your dedication and knowledge of the extortion attempts are outstanding. It’s people like you who are gonna clear his name some day and I hope it will be soon. surely Michael Jacksons and his amazing legacy do not deserve to be tainted by these false accusations.
keep up the good work:)
December 24th, 2009 at 4:36 am
Calista it is very obvious you have personal issues with Michael Jackson as does so many others out there. Could it be you are very jealous of a black man who made millions, had WHITE and all race of women falling at his feet, could it be you are just a hateful person and refuse to believe what you read in the FBI reports? It appears the more people fire at you the ammunition of proof the FBI could not find ANYTHING on Michael Jackson this upsets you because you fed into the media frenzy and in your mind he is guilty? You have gone so far as to invoke his children. No matter how they got here, they are innocent and should be left out of all discussions. What I don’t understand from people like you – it would be just common sense to know if Michael Jackson molested 2 children then there has to be more. A child molester just doesn’t do 1 or 2 they have a pattern. Michael for sure had the opportunity to molest hundreds of children as there were many that stayed at Neverland. Do you honestly, in your heart believe Michael Jackson paid off hundreds of children to keep quiet? There are many people like you that WANT to believe Michael is guilty because you hate the man so much. You refuse to do your own research. You only see through your eyes what you want to see. You don’t want to be wrong and refuse to accept the fact he was innocent. If the FBI had any proof he committed crimes against children no amount of money could have saved Michael – he would probably be alive today and sitting in jail. Just remember that.
December 24th, 2009 at 5:11 am
Well, to the journalists out there that bashed Michael and continue to do so (i.e. Diane Dimond) shame on you. How do you sleep at night knowing that you continually ridiculed and attacked at innocent man? All of you are a part of his demise! Thank God I do not have this sin on my soul. You are lower than the devil himself ….. what goes around comes around. Michael, we the fans always believed in you …. we will always defend you until the day we take our last breathe here on earth. Miss and love you so much.
December 24th, 2009 at 5:48 am
@Kathe: if you notice, Diane Dimond has spent the last part of the year rhapsodizing about MJ as if she held him in great esteem. Why? Because she now works with Entertainment Tonight, an organization that has always been a friend to Jackson. Diane’s vendetta against MJ seems to fade when there’s the opportunity to make money eulogizing him. She thought she could make her career on her fruitless “expose” and came up with nothing but speculation and lies. She’s actually been kind of quiet in the last two months, maybe she’s writing another book.
December 24th, 2009 at 5:54 am
calista i’m not jackson fan but from what i understand the neverland five said that they saw mj touching wade robson and mac caulkin. but theur story was false mainly because wade and mac said that nothing happened. i mean i actually would have believethe neverland five story if mac, wade and also another boy called brett barnes called their stories bs. and actually defend mj
December 24th, 2009 at 5:59 am
oh and also what’s up whit the nickname jacko i mean its not offensive but it’s boring
December 24th, 2009 at 8:25 am
I don’t know why you guys bother with people like Calista. If she does not mine making a complete ass out of herself then who are we to stop her? But let me try something I will go and find the settlement papers for you and dare you to read them. If you come back after reading them still talking the same bull the you are just what you sound like a stupid person. Oh and Paul your statement saying I believe that Michael may or may not have molested jordie chandler. Wow what a brilliant observation
December 24th, 2009 at 8:31 am
@whilome I heard she is writing another book of lies! @Paul..is that you OMG standing ovation for you. I knew you had it in you too see the TRUTH finally but I disagree with MJ ever doing a thing to Gavin. I also heard the Aphrodite Jones, Karen Faye, Geraldine Hughes in discussion talks for a movie as well! Janet Jackson as well is writing a book…2010 should be an interesting year for all kinds of books be wriiten however I DO believe they will finally be positive and uphold the truth and vindication MJ so deserves!
December 24th, 2009 at 9:13 am
After Michael first passed away(what I should say is murdered) there was so much media coverage on him it was unbelievable. But,I am happy there was because that is when I realized just how the media destroyed this man!I would sit here and watch Michael give an interview, then I would flip the channels and end up on a tabloid show, they would be repeating things Michael once said in interviews(the same ones I had just finished watching I might add!)these reporters would either leave most of what he said out or twist and turn what he said around all together.I DISTNTLY heard Michael say he did not sleep in the bed with those boys,he DISTNTLY said he slept on the floor but then when you see the Bashir tapes,Bashir edited that part out.It is no wonder Michael decided to stop giving interviews and I believe him when he said it was because they blew his answers way out of proportion. The sad part is there are so many gullible people out there who believe everything they read or hear.I never for one minute believed Michael was guilty of anything other than being too trusting and naive. He was a genius at what he did but yet still a child in his mind at times,of course he wouldn’t think anything of the boys staying in his room, this is also how he grew up with all of his brothers in the same room in that tiny house they lived in.I don’t care what you haters say,if a child is being abused in anyway, they certainly wouldn’t have wanted to go to Michael’s house let alone his bedroom. All it takes is a little common sense and you can see right through the allegations.Michael did nothing to these kids,it was the parents out to get money.Well they got paid back for it because they had to go into hiding and I don’t see where their blood money did them one bit of good.No REAL parent would accept money over jail time!Michael didn’t pay off Chandler, his insurance company did,he wanted to fight it.They didn’t do it for Michael, they did it to cover their own butts.I am 100% sure if he fought the Chandler case, the second fasle allegations never would have taken place. You haters need to quit living in the past,Michael was found not guilty,no criminal is going to outsmart the FBI for 17 years,so get over it!!
December 24th, 2009 at 12:00 pm
We knew MJ didn’t do this from the start. None of it made sense. I remember even looking at a leak which accused him of committing a crime on the day of Maurice Gibb’s funeral! A day which was mysteriously dropped later. They tried to do him for something he didn’t do, because of other things they felt had got away with. Well it doesn’t work like that! He was innocent. Perhaps, sadly only in this case. We will never know but that point remains it’s a disgrace that someone got sent to trial for something they clearly hadn’t done from the outset.
December 24th, 2009 at 3:46 pm
Jordan Chandler had the opportunity to testify in the 2005 trial but refused to do so. Why, we don’t know.
The bond between him and Michael Jackson seems to have been strong. If there was any sex involved – either as between “partners” or sex talk and exploration as between two young boys who considered themselves friends (Michael didn’t really see himself as a grownup) – we don’t know. In any case, Evan’s reasons to accuse Michael seem to have been purely economical and out of jealousy and wish for revenge.
Since Jordan was drugged he may not be able to trust his memories anymore. If Michael was innocent and Evan planted memories of him sexually touching Jordan into Jordan’s mind, that was the real abuse.
December 24th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
FROM AP DEC 24:
A pediatrition charged with sexually abusing his patients likely attacked more than 100 children at an office he had decked out with a merry-go-round and a ferris wheel, a state official said Wednesday.
The alleged attacks in exam rooms, which had Disney themes such as Pinocchio, at BayBees Pediatrics, Bradley’s solo practice.
Is there a pattern here?
Any parallels to someone we know of?

“Oh, and by the way, Calista, Michael Jackson’s admirers have no legal standing to subpoena anyone. We were not (technically) damaged by Evan Chandler’s extortion; only Michael was damaged, and he didn’t seek retribution, as was his spirit not to. You sound like a silly young girl. How old are you, anyway?”
Calista sounds just like the rabid, obssessed Diane Dimond.
We’re all indirectly damaged by Chandler’s behavior. When one is oppressed, we’re all oppressed.
Has “Jordy” had himself de-bugged from the suggestions his father planted while under the influence of a hypnotic drug? Do people ignored the fact that the claim was MJ was inappropriate 3 times in 3 years. The description given by dad and son of MJs genitals was inaccurate. Chandler was jealous of MJ. Resentment too, because MJ hadn’t finance his screenplays and built him a new house, as he requested. Chandler sued a second time for 60mil, claiming MJ violated the Confidentiality agreement, when in fact, he was guilty of that. His mouth pieces were Uncle Ray, Diane Dimond, Victor Gutierrez. He even released confidential sessions between Jordy and a shrink.
According to Evan Chandler, he walked into Jordan’s room one morning where they were sleeping and observed MJ spooning with J with his hand on Js crotch. What would any rational parent do if that had indeed happened? Beat hell out of MJ, kick him out and get a restraining order? Immediately call LE and/or CPS? Chandler did none of that. He claimed that he quietly closed the door and sought out an attorney. Tell me he didn’t have an agenda. Jordan may have even become part of the extortion after the suggestions were planted. Evan was violent, hit Jordan in the head with a 12# dumbbell and chocked him, over money. It’s plausible that he blackmailed the kid to particpate.
Read Mary A. Fischer’s GQ article, “Was MJ Framed”.
December 24th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
(Sorry about my spelling in earlier post lol)Yes you are right SeptSpirit,if a child of mine was being spooned by a grown up man,no way would I have closed the door and walked away.SET UP if I ever saw one!The only person who did any damage to Jordy Chandler was EVAN CHANDLER!
December 24th, 2009 at 8:44 pm
I have always said that if your child was being molested, why would you accept money and run? There is no way in HELL, hear me, NO WAY IN HELL if I saw someone molesting my child, I would quietly close the door and go get a lawyer. I would have needed a lawyer alright. For killing the person I just witness molesting my child. If people refuse to see that Michael was frame, then they are blind as a bat. Yea Evan Chandler killed his self for the suffering he was going through with his illness, and the suffering he put Michael Jackson through.
December 24th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
“Oh and by the way, why don’t the whacko Jacko fans subpoena Jordy now? He’s alive? What are you afraid of? They are afraid of getting egg all over themselves, because he won’t recant, nor will any of the other boys.~~Calista”
What “other boys”? Melville allowed 1108 evidence. Do you know what that is? He even allowed third parties to testify that they had “witnessed” inappropriate behavior, without calling the victim to testify. 1108 evidence- all past charges and allegations, and all the DA/FBI could find was 5 witnesses? 3 claimed nothing untoward happened. Jordan refused to testify. And the 5th, uh, read the testimony. A grown man having a dramafest on the stand about being “tickled” inappropriately 11 years prior. For real? Did anyone laugh? Oh, forgot to mention, his mommy negotiated a settlement and sold the story to who else but, Hard Copy.
Sneddon even had a website for 10 years, inviting victims to come forward. I know Dimond continues to claim she found other boys. Where were they when the rubber met the road? She had the DA in her back pocket. She was running all over the country following leads- dupped by a Canadian boy who was far more convincing than either Chandler or Arvizo. She even flew across the country to dig through a storage shed and retrieved a pair of underwear she thought might be MJs. The woman’s obsession has obscured all objectivity. She had the gaul (or lack of class/ethics) to go on LKL and outright called MJ a Pedophile. And she’s still working and considered by some to be a reputable reporter. I wonder what the IQ of her average fan is?
An unprecedented investigation by CPS, two LE agencies, 70 sheriffs, the FBI, untold forensic experts, unethical witnesses, fabricated evidence, 10 years of searching for victims; all the cards were stacked against him, and he was still acquitted of all charges. NOT because of his celebrity. Because there was never any evidence. It should never have gone to trial.
My theory on that. While Sneddon would’ve loved a victory, with Dimond working the public, he didn’t have to have a victory to severely damage MJ and run him out of his county. Dimond, and her ilk, saw to it that MJ was convicted in the Court of Public Opinion. There should be a law against this kind of Medialoid attack. What happened to reporting the facts and keeping one’s sick, slanderous imaginings to themseleves?

And Evan Chandler is just the beginning…..
December 24th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
Roger, did you see this:
“Roger, any insight as to how a little-known foreign journo like Martin Bashir was able to leap-frog over dozens of better-qualified Americans to succeed Ted Koppel as host of Nightine? Was it a reward for the takedown of Michael Jackson? And is it true that Bashir’s brother works for Tommy Mottola? (Quite a “coincidence” if it’s true.)”
Enquiring minds want to know. I thought it ironic too that a second piece by Bashir was aired, just as the jury had been selected. Then you’d have to go into the Bashir/Geller/Boteach relationship. You did a great job exposing the backstabber Boteach when he bankrupted the charity he started with MJ, and before it was even publicly launched. Why was Geller paid $200K for the Bashir setup? Why, after years of not speaking to Geller or Boteach, was Geller announcing plans of MJ making a peace mission to the Middle East with Boteach and of plans to install subliminal messages into MJs music to “help end the global economic crisis”. MJ had kicked both to the curb when he realized they were just two more hanger-on leeches. That story deserves to be told in its entirity. I have an outline of events, cited with articles. I’d be happy to share. Email me.
The deck was “so” stacked against MJ. I was just remembering too, that two jurors snuck in illegal material to sway the other jurors- A medical dictionary to “prove” MJ met the definition of a pedophile, and (get this) a video of Court TVs Dimond and Nancy Dis-Grace’s commentary. Where, oh where, did that juror obtain that video? Why wasn’t either removed?
December 24th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
“And Evan Chandler is just the beginning…..”
Ain’t it the truth. I just remembered another interesting factoid. The LADA and Sneddon were trying to get a law passed that would allow them to force Jordan to testify.
Did anyone in this case care about Jordan, except MJ? Every other person involved had their own selfish agenda- how they could use him to acquire money or vengence. I think this is why MJ didn’t push the issue or demand that Mesereau subpeona Jordan in 05. Jordan’s attorney said he wanted to get on with his life. He should’ve had a guardian ad litem from the get go.

You wrote good coloumns during the trial and I am glad you did. You might do negative spins sometimes but you don´t kick somebody when they are down right? The master media manipulator during the 93 case imo was Larry Feldman. FYI there is a book about it Redemption by Geraldine Hughes. Also people really should questions what Mr Feldman said that the Chadlers didn´t what money only justice… Right?
Michael Jackson sequel: Settlement not enough

Father, who accused singer of molesting son and is now suing again, ought to get a life.
LOS ANGELES — Remember Evan Chandler?
He’s the Beverly Hills dentist who several years ago accused pop music superstar Michael Jackson of sexually molesting his then 13-year-old son. Instead of trying to put Jackson in jail, Chandler sought to pick his pocket. The civil suit he filed in 1993 was settled out of court, reportedly for more than $10 million.
Now Chandler is hoping for another visit from the tooth fairy.
The former dentist to the stars is back in court. And this time he’s not just suing Jackson. Chandler also has named the pop music star’s ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley, the Sony Music Corp., the Walt Disney Co. and some 300 unnamed persons as co-conspirators.
Aided and abetted by this cast of characters, Jackson violated the terms of their confidential 1994 agreement, Chandler says. How? By denying — in words and song — that he sexually abused the young boy. He did so last year during an interview on ABC with Diane Sawyer, Chandler charges, and again in his latest album.
And for that Jackson must pay.
How much? Chandler, who between root canals co-wrote the screenplay for the movie Robin Hood: Men in Tights, wants at least $60 million to settle his latest complaint against the pop music king. He also wants an album. Not a copy of HIStory, the Jackson album he cites in his suit. Chandler wants a court order “to allow him to publish and cause to be distributed to the public for sale” his own musical composition — something he calls “EVANstory.” And, yes, he wants to be taken seriously. Hmmmm.
But, of course, he blew his chance for that when he chose to press his child-abuse charge in a civil, rather than criminal, court. How many parents who really believe some guy was molesting their child would pass up the chance to put him in jail? Who would seek a financial payoff in lieu of a criminal prosecution?
If Michael Jackson is a child molester, he belongs in jail. And if Evan Chandler has any evidence to support the charge that Jackson “sexually molested and assaulted” his son, he should give it to a prosecutor — not try to use it to launch his own recording career.
When Chandler and Jackson reached their out-of-court settlement, lawsuit lawyers for both men announced the deal in a joint, one-page statement. Twice in that document Jackson asserted his innocence. Now, two years later, Chandler claims such a denial is a violation of the agreement.
Some of these denials, Chandler contends, are buried in the lyrics of several of the songs on Jackson’s HIStory album. What is he talking about? Well, in one song Jackson sings: “Somebody’s out, somebody’s out to use me, they really wanna use me, they falsely accused me.”
Chandler believes these words are targeted at him. Maybe. Maybe not. In recent years Jackson has been dragged into civil court by a Denver songwriter who accused him of stealing his lyrics and a woman who said he fathered her child. Maybe he was talking about them. Or maybe — like most songwriters — he wasn’t talking about anyone in particular.
And remember the recent controversy over Jackson’s use of terms like “Jew me, sue me” and “*#*# me, don’t you black and white me” in a song on the HIStory album? Well, Chandler, who is Jewish, suggests in his lawsuit that they were aimed directly at him. Now he wants a chance to fire back with his own repertoire of songs.
Evan, get a life. The statute of limitations for your child-abuse charge expires in three years. If Michael Jackson did the unspeakable to your boy, give prosecutors the evidence they need to put him in jail.
Put up or shut up.
And why did Evan sue Jordan a couple of years ago? What was the reason?

Why don’t the wacko Jacko fans subpoena Jordon, someone asked. I will answer that. We won’t have too. We didn’t subpoena Evan Chandler. Time and faith has a way of taking care of things. Evan Chandler lefted this world a broken lonely man, not even speaking to his son. And Michael, despite what people did to him, despite some choices he made, he is just as much if not more loved and respected now in death. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure Michael was not a perfect man. But I do not believe he molested anyone. The Martin Bashir deal have always puzzle me. What was Nightline a payoff for? His payoff for trying to bring down Michael. Do not get me started on Diane Diamond. There isn’t enough time for me to tell you what I think of her.
December 25th, 2009 at 4:31 am
I can only speak for myself. I am not a rich person by no means. So millions of dollars would make life alot easy. I work hard, I struggle to pay my bills, but they get paid. But I will stand before the world and say, there is no way I would accept one dime from someone I thought were molesting my child. My child would not be for sale. File a Civil Suit. Hell No!! I would do everything I could to to get this person ass in prison. If Chandler was so darn sure his child was molested, he could have file a Civil Suit after the Criminal trial. Why didn’t he?

“My theory on that. While Sneddon would’ve loved a victory, with Dimond working the public, he didn’t have to have a victory to severely damage MJ and run him out of his county. Dimond, and her ilk, saw to it that MJ was convicted in the Court of Public Opinion.”
Yes – they got him in the end, and it is a psychological mystery as to why they wanted to. What about Michael Jackson could they just not stand? What about Michael Jackson somehow challenged their own personal equilibrium? And what did they feel when first Neverland and then Michael himself died?
December 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
ah Calista as you scream bloody merde over Jordan being subpoenaed– YOU DO FORGET, HE LEFT THE COUNTRY FOR THE DURATION OF THAT TRIAL TO AVOID BEING CALLED?!
The Chandlers have done every available gambit to keep these alegations alive with continual new reinvention of events- but they cannot put their MJ money were their mouths are 7
December 25th, 2009 at 11:39 am
CAlista, get your facts right– Jordan chandler left the country for the duration of the Arvizo trial so he cannot be called. He made sure of that.
If anything, all these Jordan allegations are just that allegations! as it’s never b een proven.. and he’s never been cross-examined by MJ’s defense. WHAT’S MORE– HE MADE CERTAIN HE NEVER FACED MJ IN COURT.
If there’s anything that clear in that settlement in 1994– it was he can testify in any court of Law.
the truth always was– JORDAN CHANDLERC ANNOT FACE MICHAEL JACKSON WITH HIS LIES IF HE TRIED– & IF HE DID, HE & HIS FAMILY WILL BE EXPOSED FOR THE EXTORTIONISTS THAT THEY Are.
so before, you keep blabbing your pen off– know some fundamental facts.
and true– that was a Filipno couple who once worked at Neverland– the QUINDOYS! the man was the vbutler, the wife the cook– they used the tabloids with invented lurid tales appearing on HARD COPY– which dimond salivated over– actually, they even said MJ was a kind boss; to get rich. But push come to shove– as the FBI went to Manila they really had nothing to say.
December 25th, 2009 at 11:48 am
NOT TO WORRY AXON.. MJ alive was vulnerable.
Now in death– HE’S INDEED INVINCIBLE.. he’s now one of the IMMORTALS!. History will not be kind to Sneddon, the chandlers & their ilk.. as they will be proven as nothing but envious, greedy, inconsequential cretins.
Michael was always aware of his own place in history– he knew his work will live on forever.
December 25th, 2009 at 7:57 pm
Axon I’m not trying to play the race card here; the reason is simple. Michael Jackson was beloved around the world. It was too much power in their eyes for one BLACK MAN to have. Believe it or not but in America, the struggle continues for African-American’s. No matter how much money or how much talent you have SOME people still look upon blacks as a second class citizen. Let’s just turn this around for a moment. If this was Donnie Osmond (sp?) would Sneedon have used the same tactics on him as they did on Michael? No. I don’t think so. Donnie is white.
They had to bring Michael down at whatever the cost. He was an easy target for all that wanted a piece of him for all the wrong reasons. Sneedon said himself and basically came right out and said he did not like his music but that was not all. As a parent I have to agree with others on here; if I knew something was funny about those sleepovers I would do everything in my power to see that Michael went to jail or, worst. No amount of money in the world could make me turn a blind eye to that kind of behavior.
December 25th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
I totally agree with A. Darton.
Love him, hate him.. any parent in their right mind would NOT accept filthy money, and let the molester of their own child get away with it.
I personally feel Michael was just such an easy target. He was such a childish person, I dont think he knew better. I think he loved children, I mean he donated half a billion dollars to childrens hospitals and orphanages, and even opened neverland for sick children to have fun. If you TRY to look at all this in a positive way, instead of automatically saying he did all that to be around little boys, you can see that he is more of a target than he was a bad man.
Thank you for posting this, I hope his name is cleared everywhere, and justice is finally served for Michael.

axon – “Jordan Chandler had the opportunity to testify in the 2005 trial but refused to do so. Why, we don’t know.”
Because he would have been subject to cross-examination by attorney Tom Mesereau. Mesereau had several witnesses lined up who would testify that Jordan Chandler told them that MJ never touched him inappropriately.
axon – “If there was any sex involved – either as between “partners” or sex talk and exploration as between two young boys who considered themselves friends (Michael didn’t really see himself as a grownup) –we don’t know.”
MJ was grown-up enough – if there was any sex involved, it was between Michael and June Chandler, Jordan’s mother. He was smitten with her, and she had no problem traveling the world with him, staying in ritzy hotels, and accepting his expensive gifts. One observer characterized her as the would-be Queen Bee of Neverland. MJ isn’t the first smart guy – or the last – to become infatuated with the wrong woman.
axon – “What about Michael Jackson could they just not stand?”
A profound question. In years to come, there will doubtless be many a book and master’s thesis written on the subject. Here’s what I think:
MJ challenged the entrenched power structure of the music industry.
He outsold Elvis and had the audacity to marry his daughter.
He held huge world-wide audiences in his thrall, and hordes of attractive young white women screamed and fainted in his presence.
He bought up the music catalogs of not just black artists but white artists like John Mayer, Taylor Swift, and most unforgiveably, the Beatles.
He paid millions for a plush estate is an almost all white county and then opened it up to inner-city minority children, who “invaded” by the hundreds.
He was becoming increasingly vocal about social issues and the environment.
He was immensely wealthy, and like a lot of wealthy people, he did what he wanted to do, lived his life as he wished, and really didn’t give a damn what other people thought about it.
Combined with his unsettling changing appearance, these were intolerable transgressions for a black man. Michael Jackson had to be brought down. Aided by the near-total collapse of journalistic integrity, the media assassination of MJ was inevitable. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.
December 26th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
It’s a damn shame that there’s so much proof to fully vindicate Jackson, but no major news sources wish to grab at it and report it.

All I’m going to say is my belief in Michael Jackson innocence is stronger than ever. These FBI files have proven nothing. Oh wait, yes they did prove something…Michael Jackson was a innocent man.
December 29th, 2009 at 7:50 pm
Jordan Chandler needs to man up and admit publicly what he’s basically admitted privately amongst some of my associates: the ‘93 molestation “never happened.”
The feds found nothing because there was nothing against Jackson in the first place. Sad that it took his untimely death for this stuff to surface. Your friend Diane Dimond, however, knows that her already shaky credibility is under even more debris since the Feds findings contradict her “investigation.” I hope she doesn’t get a wink of sleep for the rest of her life until she changes her tune.
December 30th, 2009 at 7:55 am
Oh yes, I also think racism was the very basis for the wish to destroy Michael Jackson. He was a black man having the audacity to become white (not his own doing, but racists don’t care), and not only did he attract white girls, he turned them down. How dare he? His music made him wealthy beyond comprehension and he lived his life exactly the way he wanted. Sneddon was completely unable and unwilling to understand anything about MJ – and he bragged about it to win sympathies from his own demographic. Highly unprofessional, and dangerously stupid.
No, Donny osmond would not have been stripped naked – he sould probably not even get charged, given the same circumstances. And just look at Polanski. Even Roger Friedman seems to be able to excuse outright rape because of the film The Pianist. It’s madness.
Anyone who doubts racism is still thriving can visit comments on Washington Post as well as tmz. There are a lot of people who just can’t stand the fact that there is a half black man in the White House.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:17 am
I agree Lo-Lo.What the FBI files showed to me was how unprofessional and a laughing stock Diane Diamond really is.I hope she is haunted by this for the rest of her life!!
Sad to say, but I rather doubt Jordan Chandler ever will come forward and even if he does, there will still be haters out there saying he was paid to or something to that effect. We will never be able to get through to the haters, they lack common sense and would rather believe the tabloid trash instead of the facts.

December 31st, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Calista you are one on the dumbest Mj haters I have ever come across based on what you have written. You have more fans than his fans and you yourself admitted the Mj never admitted to any wrong doing, the documents said NEGLIGENCE and did not bar them from testifying.
You also claim that because people like the Filipino people claimed the ‘heard’ suspicious noises it means MJ is a pedophile? Look I could easily say you are a pedophile and I could easily ask at least 5 people here to say you are one and they would easily say it because you are the only hater here and they don’t like you much. In other words, use your brain, the fact the it was said or suspected does not mean anything.
As for Jordan have you ever asked yourself why he was estranged from his parents and refused to testify and threatened to sue if he was forced to testify to the extent that he left the country? Have you asked yourself why he sued his father and refused to go for his funeral even when he died? Have you? Look I know a girl from NYU to went to school with Jordan and lets just say Jordan told some of his friends (she was privileged to be in the know) that it never happened. Tom knows this and had some of them ready to testify and that it why he was not afraid of Jordan testifying and Jordan knew he could not keep up the lie he was made to tell years ago and that is most probably why he did everything he could to avoid testifying.

Lo-Lo @ December 29th, 2009 at 7:50 pm said: Jordan Chandler needs to man up and admit publicly what he’s basically admitted privately amongst some of my associates: the ‘93 molestation “never happened.”
These “associates” could come forward. That would be interesting, and possibly pave the way for Jordan to retract, as long as the associates had the good sense to speak to a credible–not tabloid–media outlet. With respect to Jordan, however, I think it’ll take time for him to summon the moral courage to retract. Few people can understand the enormity of what’s being asked of Jordan, now 29, from hoards of strangers who don’t even know Jordan. He was a young teen when his father pulled off an elaborate extortion plan to victimize a man (Michael) whom Jordan liked very much; possibly even felt that Michael was a father figure who replaced a biological father who was essentially not present for Jordan. Michael had an inordinate affinity for children that few adults could fully comprehend. Fast forward 16 years and Jordan’s biological father takes his own life six months after Jordan’s spectacularly famous father figure Michael dies. The entire world is stunned. Good lord, where is Jordan to go with this?! What’s he supposed to do–call Larry King and say, “Can you book me a spot on your show?” And then what? Not gonna happen. It’s too much for anyone to cope with, let alone a young man who hasn’t been wisened by having his own children and matured enough to understand there are certain things one simply cannot live with without confronting head on. I feel enormous empathy for Jordan, even as I know what he would like to accomplish with his life; a creative life that will ultimately require disclosure. One can’t live in the shadows forever; not if one expects to do anything worthwhile and fulfilling. Michael’s legions of admirers need to get to a better place, too, as many of them display disturbing immaturity when it comes to their expectations of what Jordan should do. For cryin’ out loud, there are websites imploring him to “man up” and fake confessions that have gone viral. Put yourself in Jordan’s shoes and then say, “Jordan Chandler needs to man up.” Jordan needs only one thing: God’s strength to confront a situation that has absolutely no precedent whatsoever.
The remarkable thing is that Jordan has the unique ability to restore certain broken parts of not only his own family, but the family of man. This was a comment on a YouTube video that surprised me with its simple truth: “Michael Jackson was found not guilty and he was driven from his art and his country by a mob of ignorant fools called Americans.”
Furthermore, American media is broken and desperately needs to reverse the wrong turn it has taken into tabloidism that allowed Evan Chandler’s extortion to find a birthing place. A retraction from Jordan would begin this healing, but Jordan’s retraction will come only when he knows he’s safe–physically and emotionally–to speak it.

Jordan Chandler, assuming MJ was innocent (which I believe), could have stood up and been a witness for the defense in 2005, when he was no longer a child. It would have turned the world upside down – but it would have turned it right. I doubt he would have been charged. There would have been a big brouhaha about the money, but so what. It’s just money. And Michael would have been vindicated and maybe able to handle the rest of his life, which would probably have been a lot longer.
The lesson of Michael’s fate: Stay away from bad people at any cost. Don’t try to use them for something you want, don’t find excuses for them, just stay away. They infect everything.

For Calista,
It’s from the settlement agreement anyone can read on the smoking gun
The Minor, by and through his Guardian ad Litem, and Evan Chandler and June Chandler , and each of them individually and on behalf of their respective agents, attorneys, media representatives, partners, heirs, administrators, executors, conservators, successors and assigns, agree not to cooperate with, represent, or provide any information, to any person or entity that initiates any civil claim or action which relates in any manner to the subject matter of the Action against Jackson or any of the Jackson Releases, except as may be required by law. (page 16)
It means Jordan could testify against him in a criminal trial.
January 12th, 2010 at 10:52 pm
@Simba, I read that Bashir’s brother was supposedly Tommy Mottola’s driver. It wasn’t in a tabloid but MJ fan chatter. This talk goes back a few years ago, and more than hints at a conspiracy (which MJ talked about). Supposedly TM made a threat against MJ…basically that 1993 would be nothing in comparison to what’s in store. But again, I’ve only read it in fan chatter. Didn’t Uri Geller hook up Mike with Bashir?

Doctor Murray is negligent and should stand trial. But Michael would not have even met him or been in that loop, if it were not for 15 years of being attacked by the media. The media have not reported the FBI files correctly because they do not support the media’s damning of Michael Jackson.
Tom Sneddon, Evan Chandler, Janet Arviso, Diane Dimond, Maureen Orth, Nancy Grace, Rothman and Feldman – together with the media as a whole, came together to destroy not only a good man but an innocent man.
Michael leaves behind three children who will have to deal with this legacy. Everybody and anybody who cares about Michael should be organizing to demand public vindication for Michael – now that the FBI files have been released.
Michael Jackson was killed alright, not just by Doctor Murray – but by the economic forces of brute capitalism behind the corporations that own media houses and communications agencies.
January 25th, 2010 at 11:05 pm
It must be sad for so many good people that loved this man to see Zero real information about His life being just thrown away like some skid row bum.[and I don't mean the Doctor did it] If any of us that worked in and around the 1993 events, [the start of the path to MJ's tragic ending] get to expose the TELLING details of the first HIT at MJ, it will be easy to see why the KING OF POP has left the building.
January 26th, 2010 at 1:50 am
Google IMDB + the name, of all the show-biz players around Michael Jackson over last few years and you can find lots of “Hey this one was his friend and now here he is in with one of MJ’s enemies”. The music and movie production worlds can be just super evil with super glitz [and some super good guys] Lots of dead young Stars and no best conviction or biggest blame awards.
January 27th, 2010 at 12:32 pm
Thanks for this piece – enlightening but should have been published years ago. For the most part there are many who did not like Michaels power. He was a Black man in America how could his force be so powerful. Something had to be done to bring him down. And if they could have they would have used millions more in resources to tear him down. Michael as Tom Mesereau said was guilty of being “too nice to too many people”. I pray that Michael knew that there were also good people in this world who wanted his love from his songs from his lips not his money!!
February 6th, 2010 at 7:12 am
Mr Friedman thanks for this article.
I think what was done to Michael Jackson over the years is TERRIBLE! So many journalists have blood on their hands. They chose not to report the facts of the allegations against him in 1993 and 2005. Especially anything relating to the backgrounds of the accusers. The media frenzy and determination to write sensationalist tabloid articles (for money and ratings) instead of good investigative reporting is a damning indictment of the profession. Even when new information comes to light the majority of journalists and editors REFUSE to print it or update information. The level of journalistic arrogance and judgemental ‘opinion’ is astounding.
TO THIS DAY it continues.
They write reams about his face, skin, home, money and always raise these allegations but cannot even get the basic facts right. It is all designed to perpetuate more gossipy articles and generate cash. Journalists should BEWARE. In this era of internet access more ordinary people can research and disseminate COURT DOCUMENTS, ARCHIVE NEWS, MEDIA (photos, sound, video), and share information. If I read an article or TV report claiming $20 million payouts, skin bleaching and abuse, then I go online and see a REAL document confirming $15 million insurance, an autopsy confirming VITILIGO and 17 years of FBI investigation reveals NOTHING, what does this tell me? It says that the majority of journalists/TV reporters are lying or distorting the truth and it reveals that Michael Jackson was hunted down and bullied by the media and certain law enforcement officials for years. Journalists should be following through on abuse of power and miscarriages of justice, misrepresentaion and so on. but what if they are the guilty party themselves? It seems that no-one is looking at the Martin Bashir’s, Diane Dimonds and Nancy Grace’s of this world and calling them to account. In fact, they are protected and embraced by the profession – given big jobs and more airtime. There should be a professional independent body to review their behaviour and make them accountable for their actions – careerist vendettas and extreme bias are not journalism.
Once the public lose faith in the newspapers and media it is a road to nowhere. Professional responsibility is everything when you have the power to shape opinions and ruin lives.
February 7th, 2010 at 7:00 am
Thank you Roger Friedman. The whole truth isn’t out yet. Keep digging.
Thanks to Brandon also.
February 14th, 2010 at 1:24 pm
The autopsy report said Michael Jackson was NOT circumsized and he had vitligo and his organs were healthy. It means then that Michael Jackson was not a child molester, was not a hard core drug addict, and was not bleaching his skin because he did not want to be black. The media and people like Nancy Grace, Jane Veletz Mitchell, Diane Dimond, Stacey Brown, and others should be ashamed of themselves for ‘emotionally’ killing the king of pop.
