Everyone was so worried about James Franco appearing on “General Hospital.” Remember, he told this column the same thing on Oct. 3.
Now he writes an op-ed piece today in The Wall Street Journal confirming it.
It’s an interesting piece. More importantly, there are no other young actors of his generation who’ve shown an intellectual curiosity about anything, frankly. It’s refreshing, and kind of retro. It’s also funny how the snarky blogs like to mock him. Jealousy is so ugly.

Franco was fantastic in the true story “The Great Raid” as the courageous Capt Bob Prince. The families of the men liberated from the POW camp Cabanatuan will forever be indebted to the men of the Sixth Army Rangers, Col. Mucci and Capt Prince for their bravery.
Capt Prince was a humble man and Franco captured that so well. May he continue his career with integrity and curiousity.

What about young actors like Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joseph Gordon -Levitt, and Ryan Gosling ( and many more) . All these thespians come across as profound intellectuals & extremely articulate.
