I like her too. She is far better than people think. She has unfortunately chosen many uninteresting leading men, but Ryan R was really funny in The Proposal – he even has a funny face.

I love Sandra Bullock, and I agree with everyone here that she is a great actress. My favorite movies of hers are “While You Were Sleeping” and “The Lake House.” I haven’t seen “The Blind Side” yet. I think she is the type of actress that both men AND women can love. She is the girl next door to guys, and the best friend to girls. As far as taking risks, I think that she certainly has the ability to do any role she wants to, but she certainly has had a pretty good formula so far.

Why Can’t she be considered for best actress? She plays a real life character, plays it with gusto. It got a rare cinemascore of an A+. She’s had two 100 million dollar hits in the same year — one a great romantic comedy and one a drama — Reese Witherspoon and julia roberts have an Oscar — Sandra Bullock should too.

The problem with the academy and the public and why people don’t watch the oscars — is exactly this reason — here is one great performance and the oscars may deem it not worthy. This is Sandra Bullock’s Erin Brokovich and she should be nominated.

I was always more drawn to Sandy Bullock than Julia Roberts or Meg Ryan. Mrs. Bullock always came across as more real, geniune, and a more natural actress. Bullock easily can be a girl’s girl & a guy’s girl. Yes, she proved in “Crash”, “Blind Side”, and “Infamous” that she definitely has an acting range. Why did Sandy foolishly turn down the great Hilary Swank role in “Million Dollar Baby” ? Not only was it a delicious role, but it was a quality box office film. Hopefully, she will take more risks . I want her to do less formulaic romantic comedies & do more edgy comedies, dramas, period pieces, and action films.

She needs to study the career of (another America’s Sweatheart)Anne Hathaway: she takes film risks , hosts SNL, and she acts on stage ( Hathaway received wonderful reviews by every NY Theatre Critc for her stupendous performance in “Twelfth Night”. )

She needs to study (another America’s Sweatheart’s) the career of Anne Hathaway’s career: she takes film risks , hosts SNL, and she acts on stage ( Hathaway received wonderful reviews by every NY theatre critc for her stupendous performance in “Twelfth Night”. )

I have always said since the first time I saw her in Love Potion #9 and Demolition man, tha I would love to be her friend. I agree that she was brilliant in Crash. She’s one of those stars whose movies I will watch over and over again. And I do. My daughter and I dragged my husband to see The Blind Side and all 3 of us walked out thoroughly enjoying it. I want more Sandy too.

I haven’t seen The Blind Side yet. But for my money, Sandra Bullock’s best performance was in Crash. Maybe she was overlooked at awards season because of the huge ensemble cast, or because her character in that film was a real bitch, totally against type for usually sunny, sympathethic Sandy. Like most major stars, she has a lot more range as an actor than the public ordinarily gets to see.

I wouldn’t call Infamous underrated so much as I would call it mediocre, particularly once compared to 2005’s “Capote.”
