I told you a few weeks ago that “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” was letting go of three main players: Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, and Eric Bogosian. Now I can tell you this: one of their characters will die.
“CI” just finished filming an episode in which one of the three is murdered. That’s the exit show for the other two as well.
I am told by “CI” insiders that Erbe, especially, is very unhappy with the way things have worked out over there. “She was told everything was going fine, and then they were fired.”
Whoever was murdered isn’t too happy, either. But I’m not giving that part away.
The show is next turned over to Jeff Goldblum, who will soldier on without the original cast.
Meantime, there’s a new companion book out for “Law & Order SVU” by Susan Green and the Hollywood Reporter’s own Randee Dawn.
Fans of the show will love the episode breakdowns and the interviews with all the actors. And here’s something you might not know. Richard Belzer’s Det. Sgt. John Munch came over from another show, “Homicide: Life on the Streets.” That show was created by Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana. They owned the Munch character, but waived all rights to him — including royalties. Ten years later, Fontana jokes, he wishes maybe he hadn’t signed it all away. Belzer is still on the show and going strong!

I don’t know which one of you is a bigger idiot, you or those people at USA. Why bother telling us what information you supposedly have if you don’t cough it all up? As for Criminal Intent, USA might as well cancel it because no one is going to tune in just to see a Goren wannabe. I’ve been a loyal fan since it began and I don’t watch NBC because it dumped the show. Won’t be too hard to dunp USA since CI was the only reason I watched anything on that network. Is USA trying to piss on the few fans it had?
October 26th, 2009 at 9:42 am
MAN I find Jeff Golbudm boring I think stick with SVU if they murder Eames or Goren
October 26th, 2009 at 9:57 am
I can’t believe they’re going to kill off a character. It wasn’t enough to take the characters out of the show, they’re making sure a character never returns. This shows execs have hit a new low. I’ll never watch the show after they leave.
October 26th, 2009 at 10:43 am
Technically, they are “killing” off all three of them.
Once they are gone, the show is dead to me.
October 26th, 2009 at 10:46 am
Well, obviously they are killing off Ross. I am disgusted that they have got rid of the Dream Team. The show cannot help but fail with the talentless Goldblum.
D’Onofrio and Erbe have put their all into that show, and this is how they are treated. Shame on the idiots at NBC/USA.
(Oh, and by the way, I think pretty well everyone knows about the character of John Munch!)
October 26th, 2009 at 12:04 pm
I had heard that it was Eames that would be killed off. At any rate it is a sad day for loci fans.
October 26th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
I love D’Onofrio! Why are they doing this to a good show and a great cast? I also think this is a major fail with Goldblum!
October 26th, 2009 at 12:40 pm
How the hell can Dick Wolf allow this to happen to his baby. The best of the L&Os is now morphed into more USA “Fluff”. The hell with USA and their programming. To Vince, Katy and Eric- thanks for bringing top notch crime drama to all of us- your loyal fans. We will NEVER forget you…Jim, Columbus, OH
October 26th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
I AM FURIOUS at USA Network!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 26th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
It will be sad to see Goren and Eames gone. I can understand if Vincent wants out for a break and a chance to do other things, but why kill anybody off and why get rid of Eames if Kathryn wants to stay? I thought she worked well with Goldblum in the couple of episodes they did together, especially the last one of season 8 ‘Revolution’. It would leave the door open for future guest appearances from D’Onofrio and not upset the entire fan base!
October 26th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
I love Bobby Goren!
Goren and Eames are the best fictional characters, ever!!!!!!
I like Ross too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
USA Network should not have fired VDO/KE/EB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 26th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
I LOVE D’Onofrio and Erbe. I was hoping they would be getting promotions on the show or something so that we could still see them from time to time. Unless they are letting them go with a big fat check, that is shabby, shabby treatment for two actors who always did a consistently good job.
October 26th, 2009 at 2:31 pm
i’ve been watching the show for Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe. Goldblum is horribly annoying in this. D’Onofrio is one of the very best actor in his generation and Erbe wa sa perfect sidekick for his character.
bye bye, Criminal Intent. You just shot yourself in both feet.
NBC, still making awful decisions encore et encore….(and that anti-choice Law and Order episode last friday? Insulting to all doctors being killed by those “pro-life” murderers. Shame, shame, shame)
October 26th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
As much as it shocks I’m convinced it’s Eames who is murdered. Nothing less would drive Bobby Goren away from the NYPD. Also think about this: Which characters has Dick Wolf killed off in the 20 years of his L&O franchise? Leaving aside Lenny Briscoe (because the actor died) what else do these “murders” have in common?
October 26th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
Thanks to Michael Ausiello, it already seemed apparent they were let go. Unfortunate to have it confirmed. Honestly, while I enjoyed Goldblum, it’s not enough to make me tune in each ep… Goren and Eames… well, Vince and Katie, were.
October 26th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Goldblum takes L&O CI and makes it more like Monk, a quirky, but not edgy show. But I understand that Julianne Nicholson (Weaver) is leaving too. So unless Goldblum gets a strong partner, CI will wimp to its death in the ratings pool.
October 26th, 2009 at 3:08 pm
I am sorry to hear these 2 fine actors will be ‘leaving’ Criminal Intent. I was one of my favorites. When they are gone, I will no longer watch the show. I don’t like Jeff Goldblum’s character. Is this a way for NBC to cancel it completely because I feel the show will lose a lot of its fan base.
October 26th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
There is a petition fans can sign in support of keeping Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe on the show at: http://www.gopetition.com/online/31034/signatures.html
October 26th, 2009 at 3:19 pm
ALSO, there is a website: http://savinggorenandeamesnow.com/
and blog: http://savinggorenandeamesnow.blogspot.com/
October 26th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
I think sooner or later Law and ORder CI be sadly be cancel when ratings come in next spring when start it up again
Mothership law and Order you could tell it on last legs I remember glory day of Logan and Briscoe back in da day
October 26th, 2009 at 6:46 pm
I am betting that Erbe is the one getting killed. They said VDO would be back now and then…so her death would be a clean way for him to leave, except for a guest visit now and then.
I agree with the above fans, the original team is what draws viewers…Goldblum just isn’t compelling enough for this series…
I for one, who has watched since episode one, will not be suffering thru any episode with out Erbe, VDO and Bog.
October 26th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
NBC–the Nothing But Crap network–should have killed off Leno and Conan instead. What a mess.
October 26th, 2009 at 7:31 pm
I really don’t see how Goldblum is going to carry this show. For me, it was always about Goren and Eames. NBC/USA must have lost their collective minds. They should just start over with a completely different series … maybe … “Law and Order: Clueless Intent.” Gzeesh, D’Onofrio even did a bug (Men In Black) better than Goldblum (The Fly). And Bogosian doesn’t deserve this, either. At least we know it’s not Goren getting killed: he’s already said the door is open for guest appearances. But who would want to return as a “guest” on their own show? This is just insane.
October 26th, 2009 at 7:32 pm
I will definitely miss Erbe and D’onofrio. They MADE the series.
I still can’t believe they’re letting Goldblum take the lead. How can anybody forget his already failed cop show lead, “Raines” and how terrible it was?!? Oh yeah, it lasted seven episodes. Smart move, guys.
October 26th, 2009 at 8:30 pm
I certainaly agree with the assesment that the show will take a definite nose-dive in popularity and ratings with the (dimissal?)of D’onofrio and K. Erbe, who were the only reason I watched. what a bonehead move!
October 26th, 2009 at 9:04 pm
Okay, well in response to one comment; Jeff Goldblum is NOT talentless. Far from it in fact.
But…
I do agree that firing Vincent and Kathryn is the biggest mistake they could ever make. As much as I love Jeff, I will NOT watch the show anymore if they are not on it as well.
October 26th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
That is the most unfair way for the best actors on the show to go. Guess I won;t be watching it no more. D’Onofrio is a hunk and erbe is a babe and they go so well together as partners, I am really really disappointed. Goldblum is a bum and will fizzle the show completely out (I hope). Farewell, criminal intent. I hope to see D’Onofrio and Erbe on another CSI or something soon.
October 26th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
NBC is self-sabotaging themselves. Just take a look at the new Leno-in-PrimeTime. Doing away with the C.I. folks is an awful decision.
D’Onofrio has been one of the most intense, quirky and enjoyable actors on television for quite some time and I for one am sad that he won’t be around too much longer. Hopefully someone will build a show around his formidable talents.
Say goodbye to NBC, friends, there’s a lot better out there in TV-land, almost everywhere you look…
October 27th, 2009 at 6:24 am
Couldn’t come up with a more original idea to exit the main characters? Killing one and the other 2 investigating the murder? Haven’t you realized yet that you cannot get rid of Goren and Eames and make the show work??? Once these characters exit, I’ll no longer watch CI
October 27th, 2009 at 8:31 am
All I picture Goldblum as is the “fly”
October 27th, 2009 at 10:04 am
It’s the end of another era….Steve and Dano from HI 50, Columbo, Joe Friday and Col. Potter (can’t remember his character name), I could go on and on. But now Goren and Eames? Two actors in the prime of their careers? Come on NBC, Goren was the most brilliant, intersting and entertaining detective American TV has ever seen.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
I personally cannot stand the character Vincent D’Onofrio plays. He always has unbelievable knowledge of every situation and is an “expert” on every topic related to each case. His acting is of exaggerated sternness and deep concentration with furrowed brow – zero sense of humour. Good riddance. I thought we were done with him when he had his breakdown during the Chris Noth era. I like Jeff Goldblum and think it will be a refreshing change. Not sure of the wisdom of replacing the entire main cast however.
October 27th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
I think it’s complete crap they are taking off all the good characters. Without them, I will be sticking to SVU.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:53 am
“Yak” must be Goldblum… after all he is a SCAB willing to work for half of what Vince and Kathryn were getting…
USA, you get what you pay for. I will not watch LOCI or the shit that you call programming on your fluffy network… what are your demographics? Morons with an 8th grade education?
October 28th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
first off, i think y’all are being more than a lil unfair to Jeff Goldblum, who’s real crime is not being V. D’Onofrio, an actor who, by the way, got seriously shafted during the writer’s strike, and as a result, i suspect, was given the other lead on CI as a cookie to make it up to him contract wise for the Raines debacle…
and while i share with everyone else a real sadness re; CI’s cancellation, i can not help but wonder if some of this is due to D’Onofrio’s health issues, which, if true, i can’t hold against him for needing to address….personally, i think we were lucky to have had him this long, given everything…
and say what you like, but i would rather see a beloved show end on a high note while it is still going strong, then drag out for a dozen years until it just gets old and tired…
sorry to see yall go! (D’Onofrio, Erbe, Bogosian)…it was an incredible run and i hope to see new exciting things from all of you in the future…
a grateful for what you gave us fan
October 28th, 2009 at 6:06 pm
I will let you in on a little secret. Stop watching reality tv shows. If we stopped watching Kate and (John), Dog, Wife Swap, Survivor, Family Jewels, The Biggest Loser, America’s Got Talent, American Idol to name just a few, actors and writers would be in demand. Give me Goren or Cocky Head as I like to call him, anytime. I would have loved to see him in action with Colombo, now that would have been a show!
October 30th, 2009 at 6:08 pm
Check out this blog: http://basric.blogspot.com/2009/10/loci-dirty-dish.html?zx=e46be0f83a8d4770
It seems NBC wants the show to die in the ratings so it does not have to pay Wolf (which it would have to do if it canceled the show with its ratings high). The morons in charge at NBC USA (think Leno, Southland, etc. recently) don’t want the Law & Order shows anymore. The same fate will soon happen to the other two shows (if what this blog states is true). It would be nice if some journalists did their jobs and brought this out into the open in a BIG way… network execs deliberately pursuing programming which loses viewers. Does this possibly have to do with the sale of NBC/USA to Comcast? Tank the network from the inside to lower its value? Very strange. Goldblum must know he’s been hired to kill the ratings (and put people out of work)… not only a cheesy actor, but also not a very nice person if this is the case.

This article in the Wall Street Journal about Comcast buying NBC Uni states that Comcast has been trying to get the value of NBC Uni lowered. Maybe Comcast has the NBC Uni execs already on its payroll to do just that?
October 31st, 2009 at 4:17 pm
i love this show, but will not be watching the new one. i cannot believe that someone as smart as
wolf will do this
October 31st, 2009 at 6:41 pm
I have watched LOCI since it began, and never thought that their were so many edits that don’t care about the fans. It is unbeleivable that they would put an gerk like Goldblum in there except unless they want to kill it off. I don’t know about D’Onofrio’s health problems, but to get rid of him is the dumbist thing anyone could do. I don’t like them getting rid of Erbe either.
November 1st, 2009 at 10:51 am
As it is the end of the line for Goren and Eames, it will be the end of the line for me. Donofrio kept me watching the show and I will stop watching it when he is gone. There is no one on TV like him and he is irreplaceable. The end of Monk left me with a bad taste for USA network – this will now do them in for me. Goodbye USA, good luck with your ratings and all your bad decisions.
November 1st, 2009 at 12:40 pm
Goldblum can’t carry this show. He is the least interesting of all the main characters. Without Goren and Eames, I know I won’t be watching. Bad move on Wolf’s part. This will kill the show.
November 1st, 2009 at 1:00 pm
Fear not…………….Gorn & Eames are not the ones being killed off. Check out VDO’s interview.
November 2nd, 2009 at 9:07 am
i have NEVER been a jeff goldblum fan…such a shame…just proves people get treated unfairly in all aspects of life…i am sad to lose a good show, b/c i am done…
November 3rd, 2009 at 7:38 pm
I love Goren and Eames. They are the reason I watch the show – they are more complex than the usual cops. If they leave, I will not be watching this show any more!
November 4th, 2009 at 6:25 am
well, they’ve done it again, took something that works and got rid of it!!! Goren and Eames are the best team on tv. A big mistake! With all the reality shows the last few years they’re has been fewer good shows to watch and now this. Goldblum will never carry the show. Good luck USA and all your stupid “Executive Decisions” I won’t be watching
November 5th, 2009 at 5:01 pm
I am protesting over the cast shake-up in L&O: CI. USA Network and NBC better start using their brains or we are boycotting those networks.
November 7th, 2009 at 10:54 am
Jeff Goldblum’s character is annoying and unbelievable. I will not watch the show with him as the lead. If VDO/KE/EB want to leave for their own reasons, well then goodbye, good luck, and thank you to them. If they are being killed off and pushed out against their will, then shame on the network. They have given that network a solid, loyal fan base. USA is cutting its own throat with this move. LOCI was a good change of pace from the other fluff junk on tv. Anyone see Monk last night? Not one believable moment in the show. I guess we understand what usa/nbc thinks of its fans. No respect for our intelligence. bye bye loci, I will not watch your other cookie-cutter shows either.
November 7th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
The ONLY/MAIN reason I watched Criminal Intent was to watch Vincent D’Onofrio’s amazing work as Goren. And I love Eames. Goren got me first and then their relationship. Boy you programming guys have really messed up big time. No one who’s been a fan of CI will bother to watch and you’re going to lose a lot of money. It will not be CI EVER again.
November 10th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
I used to love this CI and now with all the newbies, I stick to SVU. They did the same with CSI Vegas. I was heartbroken when they killed my sexy Warrick. I love me some Goren, he was reason for watching. I have never really cared for Eames at all, she is corny.
November 11th, 2009 at 3:10 am
I find interesting all the comments that talk as if the character of Ross has been on the show for the whole time. What about the characters of Deakins and Carver. The two actors who played them were great actors, they left, the show went on. So, there is the possibility that Goldblum’s character will be just as great and the show won’t tank. It is very sad to hear about the characters of Goren and Eames no longer being on the show! VDO is one of my fav actors! But are we sure that he and KE were let go? Actors do choose to leave shows. They’ve both been on the show for a long time. I think killing a character off is a cop-out of a way to write a character off a show. It will be interesting to see what transpires. I really do love this show. It’s my favorite tv show.
November 14th, 2009 at 8:00 pm
I am ONLY looking forward to seeing VDO’s next professional works. I truly enjoyed Kate Erbe; they really made an excellent acting team. I think all of us know what’s ahead for the “new” CI, sorry Jeff but the ONLY resaon any of us watched was VDO and his incredible acting. The very best to Ross, Eames and the magnificent Goren.
November 14th, 2009 at 8:25 pm
While I was very disappointed to hear that Goren and Eames were leaving the show, I can’t say that I was surprised. This last season left a little something to be desired. Their acting was fantastic, as usual, but the stories were weak and rather forgettable. Definitely not what I expected coming off of the previous season. That, paired with the fact that the season opener kept getting postponed, definitely spelled trouble. I guess all good things must come to an end. I am looking forward to seeing what comes next for these great actors.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:51 am
I agree with Jennifer that watching LOCI without D’onofrio and Erbe is not only unappealing but something so stupid that I will not participate. I look forward with great pleasure to Vincent’s new works, treasure all his other works (including all seasons of LOCI). Best of luck to him and Kathryn in all their endeavors! Still hard to cope with something as idiotic as the decision to do the show without them; watch the fan base wither and die.
November 18th, 2009 at 1:05 pm
WHAT IN GOD’S NAME ARE THOSE FOOLS SMOKING,ROSS AND THE OTHER NUTS
I HAVE NOT MISSED ONE SHOW WITH EAMES AND GOREN FROM THE START.I STILL WATCH RERUNS OVER AND OVER.I EVEN GOT DISCHARGED FROM JURY
DUTY. I WAS ASKED WHAT MY FAVORITE SHOW ON TV WAS?I STOOD UP AAND SAID PROUDLY.”WHY LAW AND ORDER C I” I DON’T WISH ANY BAD LUCK TO THE CURRENT ACTORS.BUT EVERY ONE I SPEAK TO SAY THE SAME.IF BOBBY &
EAMES GO SO WILL YOUR VIEWERS.
November 22nd, 2009 at 6:59 pm
If Ross, Eames and Goren leave the will be over.. This is some real BS!! Nobody wants to see Goldblum..
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:53 am
horrid mistake, will ruin the show. oh well, at least there’s Dexter
November 23rd, 2009 at 12:29 pm
Ok guys we are all fans..Yes I’m very upset to see bobby leave..BUT he stated earlier that it has ran it’s course. When you think about it and look at how many yrs. he has done it you can’t blame him.The Eames thing makes no sense.Kinda like forcing jay Leno on us five nights a week and putting thousands of people in the tv buss. out of work..Bobby’s charter has changed a lot over the yrs and i was worried they were going to drop him when they did the he’s crazy shows……
November 24th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
Interesting submissions. I started watching Law & Order: Criminal Intent because Jeff Goldblum was going to be on it. I discovered D’Onofrio and Erbe in the deal and was very happy. I have gone back and watched Seasons One and Two so far and plan on watching them all eventually.
It is unfortunate that they are leaving, but it could have been money, schedule, or any number of other reasons in the long run. It would be interesting to know why for real.
A few comments though. Goldblum is a fine actor and well thought of in general. A genuine, nice person from what has been said about him. I think it is a little strange to blame him for the others leaving. Would you have blamed Noth if it happened during season seven?
I do agree that NBC seems to be poorly run and this is a mistake if it is their doing, but let’s not blame Goldblum and his acting for this. Thanks, Lizard
November 26th, 2009 at 10:54 am
Well at least I have my box sets to watch. I noticed on the last season that Goldblum was doing Goren like scripts, so I figured something was up. It’s too bad that they ruined such a good show, I will miss it.
November 30th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
I, like most of you have been watching loci since the beginning and now watch all the re-runs…I too only watch for VDO and KE. Vincent is the best, I just can’t get enough…I didn’t even watch the shows that Noth was on. Just Vincent and his partner Erbe. I agree with some of the people who mention that they could see it coming…I could see that Jeff Goldblum was doing cases like Goren would do and also thought it was odd that Katherine Erbe should have been in the last episode of last season w/o Goren. I look at it as Goren’s show, JG was a new comer and why should he do two shows in a row. Goren should have been in the last show of the season, he is the star of the show…Also if you watch USA for the re-runs, you will see them advertising all there shows and the people who are on them and all they ever show for CI is Goldblum and his partner…I did see Goren and Erbe once, but that was it…I always say “why are they showing them, and not the real stars of the show…I am one more fan that will not be watching the new season, w/o Goren, there is no show….which is just my opinion, but I see I am not the only one who feels that way…Goren and his partner will be missed…and I won’t turn to SVU, because even tho I like the show, I am annoyed that LOCI didn’t make it and they are still going strong…they are not that much better show.
December 7th, 2009 at 6:53 pm
My husband and I have always been a LOCI fan from the first day
it aired. We were very sad to see that NBC cancelled the show and
now USA is getting rid of the main characters. Goren and Eames
always made the show very interesting. I’m not impressed with
Jeff Goldblum so I don’t know if we will be watching the show anymore. Why does Television have to get rid of the best shows.
December 14th, 2009 at 2:16 am
L&O:CI lost its way when it dropped the role of the ADA and Logan left. L&O requires an “O” and the DA role was important, in my mind. The fact you never see McCoy or any crossovers with the other two shows is a problem, and so the shows aren’t connected as they could be. I don’t have as big of an issue with Eames and Goren moving on as I do just the whole way NBC/USA approach the franchise now. They are not aggressive enough in tying them all together and really creating a can’t-miss type of enterprise. Oh well.
December 14th, 2009 at 12:23 pm
My wife & I love watching D’Onofrio and Erbe on CI, but we also love watching Goldblum on anything, so we’ll be watching in the future…sorry to see many of you don’t like Goldblum.
December 14th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
The direction they’ve taken this show in the last few years has been terrible. Bogosian’s character is lousy. They fired Courtney Vance for no reason. Now, they’re firing D’Onofrio, who plays one of the best characters on television. There’s no reason to get rid of Erbe either. I don’t like any of these decisions. Even the decision to change the opening theme to the “Trial by Jury” theme was a dumb idea. What’s wrong with these people?
December 19th, 2009 at 9:06 pm
Hopefuly USA will find out that getting rid of Ross, Eames and Goren will ruin the show and they will lose their all their veiwers. I just can’t belive they are going to kill one of them! I just cant’t picture it! It makes me so mad that not only are they getting rid of them, one of them will be dead! ugh!!
December 26th, 2009 at 8:19 am
I think Goldblum’s doing a fine job and would have loved him and D’Onofrio together as partners sometimes. I was late coming to the show and have only been watching last 2+ years catching up on reruns and seriously fell in love with the Goren character and his methods (props to D’Onofrio and the writers). I will seriously miss D’Onofrio and hope to see him in a guest spot many times in the future because I will keep watching to see what direction it takes.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:35 am
I will nver watch Criminal Intent again! When I see someone on besides D’Onofrio and Erbe…the other actors I promptly turn the channel!!! I am watching reruns right now, so far they all have D’Onofrio and Erbe on them…as soon as the other actors show up,–the channel is switched! Does anyone care what the public wants. I am not crazy about NCIS or CSI, maybe I will watch Sleuth or Tru…USA is making mistakes…just like NBC does…it dampens the publics desire to watch their network.
December 30th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
I will be purchasing the DVD because Goldblum is horrible.
Why not cancel the show if you are going to remove the leading cast or why not replace the best performers in the world with cartoon characters because obviously the network and producers think the fans of LO CI tune in to watch a joke each week.
December 31st, 2009 at 6:52 pm
This is typical behavior for a dying series. Slipping out main characters and replacing good scripts with “fluff.” Anyone ever watch “X Files”? In a year the whole show will be cancelled. Sad, but predictable. Especially sad for those of us who have been watching since the beginning. Oh well, there’re always re-runs!
No one can replace Goren and Eames and Dick Wolf should be smart enough to know that!
January 11th, 2010 at 9:11 am
vincent is the backbone of this show and without him it is going to be shit,Goldbloom is a wannabe goren and will ruin the show by himself in season 10. Say goodbye to CI cause this should be the last season. Law and Order has gone downhill all around recently with it’s signings of new characters. SVU is the only one with basically the original cast and the writing for those episodes has gone completely downhill. If only Jerry Orbach was still around.

What a lousy decision to cancel CI. Too bad NBC didn’t keep the show years ago. They needed that show on one night in the 10:00 time slot. Instead they now give us Jay Leno at 10:00 EVERY NIGHT !!! What a surprise that show tanked. Who is running that network??

I guess I won’t be watching law and order c.i any more. I love the way this particular law and order adds the personal lives of their characters. Especially of Bobby G. This is ridiculous, pay them what they want and get them back. It’s not as if the show doesn’t have the money.

It took 2 or 3 episodes to accceopt Bogosian’s role, now I love his character… the where, what ,and why of using Glodbloom dosn’t make sence…It dosn’t work, his character seems to strugle.. Now they want to fire the franchise characters,,,Whats goin on ????? I think they hurt the serries when they killed off Nicole…Law and order C I is a HIGH QUALITY show….Quality television is not the norm,,,Maybe insted of killing off the show as we know it , they should go and find new studio’s and producers and continue a proven, quality, high viewership program…..

Vincent D’Onofrio IS L&O Criminal Intent! I have been following Law&Order CI all over the place! First when NBC was bumping it all over the place then USA picked it up and I’ve been following USA’s ever changing schedule…and even when they started switching D’Ononfrio and Erbe to every other week I stayed loyal. L&O CI is one of the FEW intelligent shows on the air. I watch all 3 Law and Orders religiously and have from almost the beginning. Even though I like Jeff Goldblum, he isn’t Law and Order material. Wake up USA and NBC!! Law and Order has been on the air 20 years…obviously Dick Wolf knows what he’s doing!

WOW…. This hurts the heart.
Ive been sitting patiently, waiting for the shows return
just to be slapped in the face by such news.
Gorens brilliance made this show what it was
and Eames kept him leveled, what a dynamic team they were.
I like Goldblum but i always looked forward to the team.
Its never gonna be the same, sorry to see them go.
WORST DECISION EVER by NBC/USA network.
Goodbye to yet another great show, its been fun.

Goldblum is a Godsend. He has the talent D’Ofofrio lacks. I tired of D’Onofrio and his one-note over-acting from the beginning. I only watched spordically. Chris Noth breathed a lot of needed fresh air into the show, but he bailed. I think Wolf made an excellent decision with Goldblum – it raises CI to the level or the original L&O, a place it has aspired to but never accomplished, I hope they bring back the woman (whose name I am ashamed to have forgotten) that played Goldblum’s partner.
Please spare me the flames – we can disagree amicably.

First, I was surprised at all the loyal (?) LOCI viewers who are so quick to condemn without understanding the problems. Second, as with any show, when the years pile up, the costs go up and the revenues down. The only alternative is to morph into a new show or cancel altogether. Add to that, any actor that can stick with a series for 8 years should get a medal. The pay is good, but it doesn’t do much for your resume to play the same role for 8 years. Let’s give Mastrantonio, Goldblum and Burrows (gifted actors, all)a chance with a new face on a great format. What it needs now is great scripts.

i dont know.. i like Goldblum, but i also enjoyed watching Goren and Eames together.. they made a good combo. however, with that said, i think Goldblum and Eames wouls make a good team. she is used to dealing with an eccentric partner and i like her level headed intelligence..
personally (and dont hate me) as much as i enjoy CI, NCIS is my favorite and i am grateful for USA for playing the reruns..

I only recently realized something ugly was brewing at USA. The commercials are all Goldblum – doesn’t even show him with a partner. Checking it out, I found this site.
Goldblums character in this show is obnoxiously arrogant and heartless. He shows NO compassion for the victims or their families and loved ones. He also showed NO chemistry with his partners.
Goren and Eames had a ton of heartfelt compassion. Sometimes, Goren even showed/felt compassion for the perp. Goren and Eames were characters that were human and believable.
I will watch the end of the G/E/R team and one with just Goldblum – just to see what direction they are taking, because they truly can’t plan on this show remaining a serious police procedural with Goldblum as the lead.

I just can’t believe you have replaced Vincent and Kathryn. L&O-CI was my favorite of the series of L&O. But now, I just can’t watch it. Jeff Goldblum is a good actor, but not for this series. I don’t like the comedic side of the show. If I wanted that, I would have watched MONK! Bring back Vince and Kat, as we call them. They are the best. As the saying goes….”If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!!!!” I mean, look how long Gun Smoke was on the air. No one replaced Marshall Dillon.
