I think it’s great that James Franco has come to Daytime. It’s admorable, to say the least. These soaps are in trouble, and I know most people think they’re silly, but to some of us, they are our lives. Please don’t reply saying “You know they’re not real, right”. Duh! It’s entertainment, and it’s good. I find tons of humor in soaps and it’s amazing to grow old with these characters. Franco is an exciting new character, and I hope to see him spice up daytime! I appreciate his guest appearance and hope it helps daytime! Thank you James Franco!!!

I can’t think James Franco is worried about a paycheck. I’d like to imagine he’s doing this to support the soap opera as a genre.

Isn’t it funny how it’s hard to see the words ‘performance art’ these days without thinking of it as a crack at Joaquin Phoenix?

Nothing to do with a paycheck. He just finished shooting EAT PRAY LOVE opposite Julia Roberts and is currently reportedly making millions shooting YOUR HIGHNESS with PINEAPPLE EXPRESS alum Danny McBride and director David Gordon Green. Soaps pay very little. He’s an artist, and like most painters don’t explain their artwork, Franco, I believe, as an actor, wants to experience all facets of the the actors world. Just my opinion.

There is no way in a million years that James is doing this for the “paycheck”.
Especially considering the amount of feature film scripts he gets sent to him daily.
I kinda appreciate him doing it for no other reason than trying a soap opera arc for a few episodes.
