A clip of the song “Human Nature,” sung by Michael Jackson during concert rehearsal, has turned up on YouTube.
The song, I am told, is not even being used in the movie “This is It,” set for release on October 28th. But someone somehow got hold of it, and here it is.
The weird part is that Sony’s security surrounding “This is It” is said to be overzealous and out of control. One insider told me recently: “I’ve never seen anything like this.”
I guess it didn’t work so well, unless the “Human Nature” clip was intentionally leaked.
But it does show Michael singing very well, moving well, coherent, with it, and right on the money. This should shoo off the naysayers who claimed that Jackson was being “worked” into the ground and couldn’t handle rehearsal. He’s clearly ok here.

Just makes me so sad that he’s gone now. Such potential for a great comeback, but much like the song he wrote for Ryan White – he’s just “gone to soon”.
Find myself humming “Human Nature” now!

He is very, very thin in that clip. It broke my heart when I saw the clip on Oprah last week. So that means Oprah used a pirated clip?
It is obvious that he is not in “good form” as you put it. It also confirms what the chef Kai Chase said about returning to work for him and finding him thinner and tired.
AEG can spin it anyway they want but what singer who acknowledged that he lost 5 lbs during each performance would have made it through 50 show when he was basically skin and bone in that clip.
The public is really going to see how AEG and Randy Philips turned a blind eye,all for the sake of profit.

I agree. He is very very thin ~ his face is almost skull-like.
September 21st, 2009 at 2:28 pm
I agree with JB. Much of what I’ve seen so far shows him to be way too thin – particularly in the face. My heart went out to him watching that clip.
September 21st, 2009 at 3:16 pm
I think he looks thin, but then he always was. He seems to be on top of his game in the clip..just as good, or better, than ever. However, we can all go back and forth about how good he may have looked to the outside world. The fact is, that someone who has to take as many drugs as he did to wind down and sleep, and when those didn’t work, take something like propofol, is NOT ok. Imo, he needed to be in intense rehab for his whole mind, body and spirit, not embarking on a huge tour right now.
September 21st, 2009 at 3:19 pm
There is footage of Elvis performing his last show in Indianapolis a month before his death where he put on a strong show and you wouldn’t know how sick he truly was. This is the same thing. To say that he wasn’t ill or that he would have been able to carry off the O2 shows is simply P.R. spin….
September 21st, 2009 at 5:12 pm
this wasn’t leaked. the source is an exclusive clip Apple posted on their movie trailer site for This Is It two days ago.
September 21st, 2009 at 6:31 pm
Michael looks thin in this clip, but he was always slim. Michael also sounds and moves very well, and it’s clear that he was rehearsing his azz off for the upcoming shows.
His family saw him weeks before he died, but it appears their ONLY concern was money. why is everyone pointing the finger solely at AEG?? per slime ball leonard rowe, he was “supposedly” representing MJ, what the hell did he do to help him?? nothing. isn’t this guy friends with douche-bag joe?
September 21st, 2009 at 7:05 pm
Is it me or is his “gayness” starting to show itself in later years as opposed to younger years?
Pat: He is super thin in that film, almost scary, like he hadn’t eaten for days.
September 21st, 2009 at 7:07 pm
Giovanni: You don’t think that Michael was in control of his last few months? You don’t think he knew what he was getting into? Don’t blame AEG, it was “everybody” including his dad, who reportedly wanted to be part of the big comeback.
MJ was the one pushing himself. Looking at him is like looking at a ghost. He had transformed himself so much he was unrecognizable.
September 21st, 2009 at 9:04 pm
I too think he looks very thin. I do wonder why his rehearsals were so late in the day. That kind of exercise makes it even harder to wind down and sleep.
It’s a shame he didn’t get good treatment for his sleep disorder instead of relying on Propofol. A good doctor would have given him a proper referral.
September 21st, 2009 at 9:14 pm
He is way too thin here, he really looks unhealthy. And I agree with the ‘gay’ comment, noticed that too. Although his performance looks fine, he looks anorexic. But I agree that this tour was obviously what MJ wanted to do even though he doubtlessly knew that his health was precarious and probably even knew that the extra stress and work might kill him.
September 22nd, 2009 at 12:24 am
No, he’s not in good shape. Dangerously thin and looking anxious. Add what his makeup-artist Karen Faye has told about him being cold and so tired he couldn’t eat himself, and the chef Kai Chase saying he was not looking good and thay the whole atmosphere around him had changed. I hate to see this clip, it literally hurts.
His potential was all there, I’m certain of it, but he couldn’t access it because of his bad health and stress. Some of all those doctors he surrounded himself with should have stepped in and stopped this tragic circus. Or Kenny Ortega. Ortega – you saw him – what were you thinking?
September 22nd, 2009 at 1:24 am
Axon makes a good point. Everybody around him, including Ortega, should have seen it. We see it. The man needed food and sleep. He was wearing so much makeup and covering his face and body up with clothing. In California? Why so much layering?
September 22nd, 2009 at 2:05 am
Thanks, Sally. I’m no doctor, but I suspect he was so cold because he had almost no body fat and because his body was busy trying to keep his inner organs safe. His room at home was sweltering hot, too. That has been given a sinister meaning, but I think he wanted his room very warm because he was feeling cold all the time.
When you don’t eat, you can become both dead tired and overly active, the latter because your body wants you to go hunting for food. It won’t let you sleep either, for the same reason.
To inject any medication into Michael Jackson at that point in time was outrageous. He needed food, rest, and psychological help. Someone should have taken out a court order to force him into a hospital, and John Branca should have assured him that he didn’t really need to do the tour to become financially solvent. That would have taken the edge off the stress. But I suppose Branca hardly got time to do that.
September 22nd, 2009 at 2:44 am
The headline of this article is deceiving because no way Michael in “good form.” He was woefully thin. Heartbreaking. I wish he never agreed to do this silly tour. He should be with his 3 kids, not buried in some crypt. Rest in peace, Michael while the “industry” makes money off of you.
September 22nd, 2009 at 5:25 am
The clip must have been intentionally leaked or Sony would have had it yanked off YouTube immediately.
Michael looks thin, unhealthy and tired. Not what I consider good form. But this is simply a rehearsal so I realize he’s not putting his “all” into it.
September 22nd, 2009 at 5:31 am
I agree,Michael does look a little thin but to me he sounded good in this clip.He was almost 51 after all,at a certain age we do begin to start losing our muscle and start to sag as we age.(Atleast I am LOL)
This is just so sad,I just wish his kids were a little older, maybe they are the ones who could have gotten him the help he so desperately needed.I truly believe he may have listened to them.
As for Michael being cold all the time,my hubby is the same way now, used to be he always got over heated, since he has gotten older he cant take the cold like he used to.A thought came across my mind when I first heard about how warm Michaels room was when he passed,it might just be my suspicious nature but kind of wondered if Dr.Murray didn’t turn up the heat that day to throw off the actual time of death??
September 22nd, 2009 at 6:32 am
Barb: Yes, people have wondered about the heat in the room, especially since there is a mysterious time lapse before 911 was called.
I don’t think a man at 51 is so old he needs to be put in blankets and hand-fed during rehearsals. Compare him to Madonna. She is shockingly skinny too, I admit that, but obviously neither sickly nor tired. I’m older than Michael Jackson, but I believe in better shape.
He had two chronic diseases that both react negatively to stress, vitiligo and lupus. On top of that, he used prescription drugs. So I ask again: Where were all those doctors who were such close friends?
September 22nd, 2009 at 7:56 am
I just don’t understand why the media has to blame everything that Michael ever did or said on drugs though. It really irritates me to no end,90% of the time there were perfectly reasonable explanations for most of it.An example of it,I read on another web site about a calendar they found in his home and how he wrote on it to buy milk, the media portrayed that to be because he was losing it,give me a break,I don’t see a thing wrong with that!I do this myself and I don’t have 3 kids I am raising or a huge household to run like Michael did.
I am wondering if Dr.Murray isn’t going to get out of this though because the LAPD didn’t secure the scene right away.Every last one of Michael’s doctors should be charged in my opinion and I blame the pharmacies for filling the prescriptions as well.
September 22nd, 2009 at 8:13 am
Oh please there was nothing wrong with Michael he was thin he had been thin for years and he was older then the last time you saw him on stage. If he was so sick why did the guy who did his autopsy say he was shocked because Michael looked so healthy? And for that gayness comet I will just ignore that one. There was nothing wrong with the man he was going to perform but Conrad Murray changed that. Some of you sound just like his loopy make up artist and his retard sister Latoya. People who saw Michael the night before he died who have nothing to do wit AEG said he was find nothing was wrong with him. GET OVER IT
September 22nd, 2009 at 9:07 am
I think Michael was in bad health ever since his trial. IMO that took a emotional and physical toll on him that he never recovered from. His family continued to bager him for money and to play concerts so they could profit from it.
Just remember that it was reported that Janet tried to intervene with him when he was living in Las Vegas. Katherine and the brothers then sent out a signed press release saying that Michael didn’t have a drug problem. It is notable that Janet didn’t sign it.
IMO Michael’s family did know he had a serious drug problem. Were they more concerned about the bad publicity if they forcefully intervened? Were they afraid of the financial ramifacitions to them if they did?
I think his family were the only ones who could have really done something. Britney Spears parents did. Whitney Houston’s mother did by showing up in her home with an injunction and the sheriff.
Some of the finger pointing being done by the Jacksons needs to be aimed at themselves IMO. There comes a point in addiction when the person can’t stop on his own and outside intervention is needed and to hell with bad publicity.
I suppose people will finger point when Amy Winehouse dies from a overdose, but right now she’s a joke. It was the same with Anna Nicole Smith. It’s strange how people care after it’s too late or there’s money to be had in a wrongful death suit.
September 22nd, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Michael doesn’t look any thinner than he was when he was younger. He was never thick. I think he looked great. Better than I was expecting.
September 22nd, 2009 at 3:42 pm
I agree with what most of you have posted with regard to how thin Michael was…And obviously, we all know that he was in need of desperate help ~ in many areas..
What I strongly disagree with though is the ‘gayness’ comments. Michael Jackson was not gay. If you are deriving that information from Ian Halperin’s book ~ then it’s the wrong book to have read.
Rest in peace, Michael ~ you are loved and missed, now and always..
September 22nd, 2009 at 4:10 pm
I agree with Just Guessing. This must be one of the most dysfunctional families of all time. It seems like the father in an attempt to control them encouraged the other brothers to resent Michael’s success as a solo artist.
Jermaine is quoted saying “Thriller” was work he could have done and that Michael was just lucky to have worked with Quincy Jones. They never acknowledged his hard work and talent. No wonder he finally decided never to tour with them again. There are reports he was still so angry with them years later that he actively blocked their own attempts to restart their careers. That would have been cruel, but maybe understandable. Especially if they put him down for other things all his life.
On You Tube there is footage of Michael Jackson surprising James Brown on stage in 2003 and he is a completely different looking person. This must have been before the start of the trial. It’s one of the few times I’ve ever seen him at what must have been a normal weight for a man his height, which was almost 6 feet.
Although it seems obvious none of them got out unscathed from that family it’s still jaw dropping to see the constant plotting over the money. Now they want a seat at the table with the executors. They should sit back and let professionals untangle this mess.
Apparently the house in Encino is still not paid for, how is that possible after over 30 years?! Michael Jackson was still paying the mortgage. This guy, whoever he was and whatever he did needed professional help from a good doctor, accountants and a therapist. Hope he’s finally at peace.
September 22nd, 2009 at 6:31 pm
MjFan, I’m not basing my opinion of his “gayness” on the book, but on his mannerisms. And also his history with (or without) women. In the back of my mind, I think the reason Joseph was so mean to him especially was that he was effeminate and talented. Remember they come from a very religious family. Michael was the quiet, shy, “effeminate” one and that probably didn’t sit with his dad. The truth will come out….somebody knows the real story.

After 30 years in health care – much of it in crit. care, i am still in complete disbelief that any doctor would administer a general anaesthetic in a home let alone without monitoring equipment and back up. The one factor that stands out is the time frame of Michaels day. To receive a GA a patient needs to fast for 4 hours in case they vomit and inhale it(aspirate). GA’s slow down or stop the gut so they dont eat when first awake. In addition Michael himself has said he cant do the dance routines on a full stomach. That left him a tiny window during the day to eat. He is clearly skeletally thin and needed medical intervention for that alone. I am bewildered as to why the criminal case against the rogue doctors seems to have stalled. Does anyone know.
Michael – your star burned so bright however I do believe your legacy will burn even brighter. Miss you – forever.
September 22nd, 2009 at 7:38 pm
Humm, all these comments and nobody mentioned that he was thin? Did any of you think he was thin? haha. Being sarcastic for all you noobs that can’t tell. One thing nobody did mention was that his voice was flat in a few spots. I guess it’s just a rehearsal but still if you are going to criticize an emaciated drug addict you may as well point out all of his shortcomings. Sad that someone with so much money, talent and reason to live (for his kids), could not get the help he needed. You can blame him and all his enablers.
September 22nd, 2009 at 8:40 pm
To me, it wouldn’t matter if MJ were gay or bisexual. Truth is he only denied it privately, because he wouldn’t like to hurt the feelings of gay fans. He could have denied it in Bashir’s infamous film, but only did so off camera (with his own camera rolling). Bashir, who is not an honest reporter, thought his footage was the only available and hinted in the edited “documentary” that MJ was gay, because he refused to answer openly.
You could easily believe MJ was gay because of his mannerisms, but that is not really evidence one way or the other. People who knew him privately thought he could be pretty guyish. The high pitched voice (as we all know now) was fake. I also believe that had MJ had gay lovers in his life, they would have popped up every now and then over the years with a beliavable story. But the short of it is, of course – nobody knows anything about Michael Jackson’s sexual feelings but himself.
September 23rd, 2009 at 12:09 am
When I read in the column that Michael was in top shape, I wonder: how can you not see Roger, just how thin Michael is in that footage. It makes one wonder: did Sony/AEG pull some strings to make you say that? Some info for the column, traded for positive words on his condition? Because apart from him sounding great, and showing the moves: with a skeleton body like that… how could he have survived. People die when they are that thin. Especially if their body is being pumped with drugs. In the end, that was his own responsibility (if he actually knew what he was getting injected with was that dangerous), but not a single person in his inner circle did a thing to stop it. Or maybe… it was what they wanted?
September 23rd, 2009 at 11:14 am
SallyinChicago>>>I agree with you. No woman has come out and said she had a relationship with Michael. Sure we had the planned pr of Debbie Rowe and Lisa Marie Presley, but no women have emerged and said they dated Michael Jackson. The gay assistant in Dr. Klein’s office said he had an affair with MJJ in the National Enquirer – but we can’t really rely on the NE. Come forward WOMEN who dated MJJ.
September 23rd, 2009 at 11:53 am
It just seems MJ didn’t date either women or men. But Lisa Marie Presley maintains they were intimate, and I believe her.
Several have speculated MJ was asexual. I doubt that. I think there may be some other explanation. Someone said after his dead there is a “longtime girlfriend” and that MJ “dealt with those things his own way”. That hints at some kind of an on and off sexual relationship, but it doesn’t really ring true.
September 23rd, 2009 at 4:45 pm
“Human Nature” will turn up in the DVD version.
September 23rd, 2009 at 8:14 pm
He looks beyond thin here, my heart breaks for his innocent children they seemed to be the only people close to him that actually LOVED him, too bad nobody else did and now they are orphans being preyed on by all the sharks raising them.
September 23rd, 2009 at 10:50 pm
It seems to me after watching this clip a half dozen times AEG and Sony are looking for responses in order to know how to market the film version. And after seeing it multiple times he looks more and more pathetic. Why someone did not have the decency to get this guy good, sound medical treatment is the true scandal. How could someone this thin, working this hard and hardly eating, meanwhile at the end of a long day not be able to fall asleep should have been a huge danger sign. And then reportedly all the drugs administered by Murray still not putting him down. Poor baby. The whole thing makes me beyond sad.
September 24th, 2009 at 12:56 am
Tuesday Afternoon: That was my first thought too, when I saw the clip at another site. They want to know how fans will react.
Fans are informed now, and although the film will get a huge audience, it will not put AEG or Kenny Ortega in a good light since it’s obvious they allowed MJ to wear himself out and risk his life. And it will not put the Jacksons in a good light either (despite especially Jermaine’s strong defense of his brother in 2005) because they should have gotten MJ committed. What he suffered from was equal to cancer: You can’t cure it yourself with all the healthy food in the world.
September 24th, 2009 at 7:43 am
You people are crazy. MJ was always a skinny minnie. ALWAYS. Remember Eddie Murphy’s delirious when he said “Mike don’t weigh but a buck o’five”. MJ was a thin, thin man. Doesn’t mean he was sick. He was ready to perform…it was his gift, and his life. Look at how happy he looked!
He just had a bad doctor who gave him too much medication. Nuff said.
March 8th, 2010 at 9:42 pm
i was searching on yahoo and found your site, you have great information and very nice site.
